Shoot, get a group and rent a snowmobile...probably cheaper than a lift ticket, and get you to the top faster than any lift.

I think the place was poorly mismanaged and that had something to do with its ultimate demise. It may be no Highlands or even Crystal for that matter, but the few people I've talked to in my life that actually skied at the place never had anything but good things to say about the actual terrain and runs there.

If it's anything like the surrounding area, it could be pretty steep. I've hiked some of those dunes over in Empire and they are impressive.

Yeah, you guys are right. It's hard to tell and I can never get pics that due anything I ride justice. That mountain Big Sky sure as hell looks crazy though.

They had they're own landing strip (snickers) so that's kinda boss.

I was out of my league, went up the top and the "easy" way down was closed,,,,a black diamond run. Thought I can do a double black no problem, scariest run of my life and didn't do it twice.

Sheeeeeet, I haven't hit a Michigan double black. I can't imagine facing this thing. It looks like the stuff T Rice hits for his videos. lol

Shit, I have only hit a few northern Michigan single blacks, I would completely soil myself on something like that. And that's just standing there looking at it.

I don't have a sled, but would be down for this next year...then you could also ride The Homestead right there too. Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding | The Homestead
