Alright thanks. BTW, if you didn't watch that second part of the documentary on Mount Mancelona, it's worth the time. Awesome. It makes me want to scrape together the funds to buy the damn place.

One of the guys on reddit claims to be the boyfriend of Joe's daughter.

The place stopped being a resort 2 decades ago and eventually it became Joe's regular home. Joe passed away in March and now his daughter owns it.

It could basically become a mellower version of Mt Bohemia. Ungroomed, untamed and entirely dependent on natural snow.

If we ever get a regular winter again we should do a tour of unusual places to ride in NW Michigan. There is also another place literally 10 miles from where I grew up (where my mom still lives) that was a downhill ski area in the 1960s and is now still groomed for X-country skiers. By looks of the satellite there are still some places you could ride if you were willing to hike it.

I have enough family between Manistee and Traverse City that we'd always have free places to crash.

God I wish I was up north right now....just cause I live here doesn't mean that that place still isn't my home.

Leo, you were REALLY right about discount season. But I was right about dogfunk. They just matched a competitor's offer on my new board AFTER the fact. As you know, my 559 dollar board became a 503 dollar board, but after seeing if they'd do a price match it just became a 391 dollar board. They are an awesome company (and I guess I am a problematic customer for bugging them about it?). But really, they were very cool about it.

Where did you see it so cheap?

It's nice Leo helps you. I ask him a simple question about goggles at his store and all I get is ridicule for posting a young pic of myself on FB.

Give it time, I'm new. I'm sure I'll also be the subject of his ridicule before long.

Man did you ever luck out on the size/width! That 166 is the only size they had there on the Heritage. They don't have my size in ANY of their discounted NS.
