Misfit in Fenton? Nope. They closed in September I think. I think they had some employee problems, but realistically, Fenton was a terrible choice of location. Fenton is basically on the outskirts of the population density. Sure, it's close to flint and kind of to some of the northern detroit suburbs, but they needed to put a place like this in a Royal Oak, Rochester, Farmington Hills even, to be more centralized. I loved the idea, and I would've gone more than once if it was closer than 55 miles from my house.

Problem is there's already a ton of skate parks in the more densely populated areas. Off the top of my head there are municipal skate parks in Huntington Woods, Royal Oak and Troy which are free, skate park businesses in Royal Oak/Madison Heights, Auburn Hills, Rochester, Clinton Township, Roseville -- and these are just the ones I can think of/aware of, there are almost certainly many more that I don't know about.
And this biz model basically needs a skate park to help subsidize it. So there's a ton of competition in that arena already. Makes it a more difficult proposition... |

I wish I could be up north today. My mom said they got dumped on last night, and by the looks of these pics from Crystal, she wasn't exaggerating. About Crystal Mountain

Too bad you weren't coming out this weekend... looking like it'll be pretty good on Sunday. It will continue to snow through the end of February, but sunny and dry the first few days of March. After that, too far out to estimate what it'll be like.
