With that said, I'm making tentative plans to take my girl up there and try this ski school thing again on 3/30. Just a day trip this time.
I just told Leo this morning that I'm going to try to hit Crystal that weekend since we're going to be up there anyways visiting family for Easter. I will likely be there that Saturday.

Well into april might mean april 3 or it might mean april 15 but in any case you should be safe on 3/30. They have tons of snow and actually have a little more in the forecast this week.

In any event it's better than last year.

Even Cannonsburg extended their season another weekend. Pretty happy that up north will be open for a while since I missed out on this last weekend. Schuss closed for the season even though they still had plenty of snow.

Wish I could... there is a gnarly tree jib that I didn't land... needed a few more whacks at it and I would've had it.

I loved how soft the snow was in the woods this weekend. Before I hooked up with you guys and while it was still light I was actually able to dabble over in the trees by JT's Trail, which I usually don't do. Had a lot of fun over there and now I'm starting to understand why you guys like the trees so much.

I'm suspecting that there may not much snow in the woods on Easter weekend anyways though.

Snow was soft because it was still reasonably fresh, I think they had gotten 8-10" total in the 5 days prior.

Never know, man. This weather is pretty wild. By far the best conditions I've had this late in the season in MI.

Forecast is calling for another 4-8" between tonight and Wednesday up there and the 10-day forecast looks favorable to at least preserve most of the snow in the trees. It may be rutted out or iced up a bit, though, which wont' be as fun.

Although you're unlikely to see any fresh snow that late in the year, it's still possible (my brother was born on 3/30/1982 and I think there were like 2ft of snow on the ground in Detroit that year... my folks have a picture of me at ~22 months or whatever age I was standing in the driveway next to the snowbanks).

I've been eyeing this ledge at Crystal ever since they built it...

Absolutely no style whatsoever lol but I'm still glad I did it. Next time I'll have to remember to throw some snow on it first to make it slide a little better.
