I hope we get a couple more storms up there. The little gal I met at Holly is as obsessed as I am with riding and is up for trips at the drop of a hat.
(...figures she'd be engaged and moving to Germany next fall!!!).

We rode for a couple days two weeks ago at Highlands and she came up Wed. night for a day of pow Thurs. only to drive home so she could pick up her fiancÚ from the airport Fri. morning. (...and NO, this isn't like JF's imaginary wedding date!) . I got vid to prove it!

NOT THAT KIND OF VIDEO either!!!!
No wonder you haven't been inviting any of us lately. Jerk.

But if she's old enough to be engaged, wouldn't that make her too old for you chomps! lol

I have a question for you guys that I don't want to post in the main forum and get flamed for because I'm sure it's been covered. But with the new bindings I noticed I have those divots in my Heritage's base right beneath the screws where they are pulling up on the inserts. Didn't have them with my Missions, maybe because they were plastic and didn't have to tighten down on them as much? I tried to back off the screws enough to eliminate the divots but I feel like they're too loose to hold those bindings in safely when I do that. Does this maybe have something to do with the Ride Micro-Disc and the fact that the tension is more concentrated since the screws are closer together (from tip to tail) than they are on a standard 4X4 disc? For example, instead of skipping an insert between screws on a plate lengthwise, these discs use two consecutive inserts, which seems to me to be more likely to concentrate the tension on the base.

I don't know if this makes sense to you guys. Bigger question is are these divots going to even make a difference riding? I'm assuming there were there on Sunday when I rode so I doubt they are, but I want feedback from you guys that have more experience than me. Also are these going to damage my board in the long run, or is it pretty normal and no big deal? Never dealt with it on my old board or my new board with the old bindings.

Thanks.

So Chomps, elaborate here. You met some chick at Holly and she's joined you for Boyne trips? How old you think she is? You sure she's engaged? You hittin it? Lol

Trapper: I've heard of that issue, from what I've heard it's not a big deal. Might get wax in it but other than that..

Looks like it, based off what they told us and their calendar. The Mountain

edit: thanks Sab, that's what I figured but I just wanted to know what you guys thought. Basically I wonder if I'm better off not tightening too much and reducing the divots, but risking looseness or if it'd be better to crank them down and have the divots but not worry about them.

You don't want your bindings loose so tighten them down...but not too much . When you wax your board just make sure you loosen them up a bit.

oh and I'm taking another shot at Crystal Mountain on Saturday. Gonna take the fam up there and try this ski school thing again. Hopefully the kiddo stays healthy this time.

My back feels so normal right now. I get stiff or whatever in the mornings but other than that no pain. I pick my girl up all the time. I haven't worn my brace really in about a week. Man I wish..

Wait, you're not riding though right? Just taking the kid up there?

I am planning on being there myself either Saturday or Friday, but right now it looks like Friday. If you're there though, I might try to get out there both days if my groin holds up. Our daughter last night was asking if she could go skiing again herself, so maybe I can talk the wife into going as well.

Yeah, I'm not riding. My wife will be, my brother and nephew will be, my sister will try (lol). My niece and daughter will be doing ski school and who knows what after that.

I'll probably just be hanging in the lodge during ski school and after that I'll just be hanging in totem park so I won't be much fun.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. ideally you hand-tighten them and there's no dimples in the base. If that's too loose, or if you ride a few laps and discover that your bindings are wiggling a bit underfoot, then tighten up a little bit. Ultimately I don't think it's gonna do anything to your board, and unlikely to make a difference in what you feel when you're riding.
