Heard from Boyne today that they intend to be open next weekend as well.

And, as crazy as it seems, if it ever stops raining I'd put a decent chance for Hawk to be open 4/20-4/21, too. If Tyler has his way, he'll be blowing snow next week. It looks like it might be cold enough a few nights.

I am doing everything within my power to get to Boyne next weekend, even if it means driving there & back in one day.

Still holding out hope for this weekend at Hawk, but obviously can't really commit anything to it at this point.

I'm going to crack up if I see a pic from Hawk Island's FB blowing snow in mid-April. I could see it too at this point. They're no joke and seem to have support to do what the hell they want.

No doubt. By the sound it, they won't be happy until they have folks snowboarding on the hill and swimming in the lake simultaneously!

I should probably just go ride Hawk in the slush tomorrow and call it a good season -- but Boyne says they will re-open next weekend, so I'm gambling on that.

Wife is noticeably annoyed but she'll get over it.

Boyne better deliver, otherwise I'll be one pissed off motherfucker.

Default ...two more days added to the season total!

Boyne was really good this weekend. Soft, surprisingly fast snow! I tried widening my stance on both the Rome GR & my NS Proto! They were at about 22.5 and 23" respectively. Now they are 24.25 and a whopping 25 on the NS.

This really seems to have helped with the butters I've been trying to get down. I feel more stable and I'm getting better lift & height on my presses. I thought I'd post a quick edit of some crappy iPhone vid that my friend shot on Sun..

Nothing I'm doing is "Sick" or "Rad" but I am getting better at butters! On Sat. I even managed to land a couple (...nose roll 180's? Is that the right terminology for these tricks?) ...while actually "Nollying into them! Naturally no Vid of Those!! :/

Here's where I'm at so far,..

Be kind,.. be gentle on the Creepy Ol' Fart!!

Nice Chomps, that's something that I intended to work on this season. I think it's a nice, stylish trick to add to your arsenal.

A month ago I never would've thought this possible but I am now only 1 day away from my pre-season goal of 40 days. Racked up #39 at Hawk on Saturday.

Planning to head back there maybe Wednesday afternoon and (if the weather holds) again this weekend.

Went sideways a few times on a big rail -- probably should've gone for boardslide but I haven't really hit big features from a backside approach so I opted for front lipslide instead. Super sketchy, but aside from this little "whoops" where I slipped over the rail, I never really bailed on any of them or ate shit, so that's real good for the confidence. Hoping I can land a few proper lipslides before I retire the board for the season

Well, looks like I'm going to head north again this weekend. Even if this isn't the last weekend that Boyne will be open,.. I'm pretty sure looking at the forecast that it's likely to be the last weekend with even remotely decent riding conditions. (...besides, two more days on this early season 2013/14 pass deal I got, and that means I'll be riding at Highlands ALL of next season for less than $100!!!)

Last weekend was surprisingly good. Got cold enough at night for the snow to set up decent and when it warmed up, it still stayed pretty fast! I'm hoping it will be close to that this weekend but after all the rain they're getting, who knows?

Anybody else here gonna head up & try and squeeze another day or two outta the season?

I was gonna try to do this weekend at Boyne on Saturday but I am about 99% sure I can't do that. Jackie has been super awesome about letting me ride pretty much whenever I wanted to this season, but now that we're in mid-April I think her patience have all but run out

My friend Mike is going to be up at Boyne this weekend I think you may have met him at Mt. Holly? I think he is leaving Friday night and coming home Saturday evening.

Fingers crossed that Hawk Island can weather the weather LOL and I will go there instead.

But... if Boyne is open next weekend -- and they very well might be because they already have a golf/ski event planned on May 4 -- then perhaps I can swing a day trip next week.
