BTW,.. Just did the final math on my 2013/14 Boyne season pass deal.

The 5 days I planned to be there the week I bought the pass (...decided to buy at the last minute!) Lift tickets were going to cost me $225. Instead I paid $389 for the pass which lets me ride for the remainder of 2012/13!

So,.. $389 - $225 = $164
Next weekend up would have been $70 so now = $94
Last weekend,.. $45

So,.. Essentially I'm riding at Boyne for ALL of next season for $49!!!!

Would've been a bargain either way you look at it but with this extended April you definitely got a bargain.

Wish I could go next weekend... If I had known last week (I knew there was a good *chance* but I was not certain), would've made plans to do that instead of Hawk. As it was, I took the "certain" over the "maybe". And kinda sorta told the wifey I was done for the season. If they're open in May -- and they very well might be -- then maybe I'll test the waters and see if I can get up there for a day, but I'm not really counting on it.

I can rationalize this, kind of: if I go to Boyne, I know I'll just hurt myself in the park there, so, better just stay home

Excellent deal Chompsy. I'm stoked for you on getting your pass for next season squared away, especially for such a bargain.

You have more days in this season than I've ridden in my entire life. Crazy!

How the heck is Boyne open next weekend? You guys are referring to the 27th or the first Saturday in May?

They are confirmed open for this weekend 27/28.

They have some events including a ski race/golf combo, scheduled for May 4. Although that is a semi-closed event (I think you have to register for the race & golf event...), with that on the docket, I would not be at all surprised if they are officially "open" that weekend, too.

Alright, so I went and saw one of the MSU Sports Medicine doctors last week and he said it's one of two things (and not a groin pull like I originally thought). Based on physical tests he had me do, it's either a stress fracture of my lower pelvis or a sports hernia. The first one wouldn't require surgery but absolute rest while the second one may require surgery. Going for the MRI on Thursday to confirm what it is for sure.

So all winter I've snowboarded on this thing thinking it was a pulled muscle and that I probably wouldn't make it worse when in fact I was putting myself in danger of making it much worse. It also explains why small falls onto my tailbone hurt so much more than usual. Moral of the story? Don't wait to get shit checked out. Hopefully I can right this thing before next season.

Well fortunately it's nothing like what you had to deal with, but yeah I'm hoping it's nothing that will take too long to get over.

nah, an injury is an injury. They all suck.

That said, I'm doing (relatively) light squats now. Benching close to normal weights and brisk walking for well over 30 minutes a pop. I think I'm going to graduate to the eliptical the next time I'm at the gym.

Really the only thing I get is occasional stiffness in the morning that works itself out within 5 minutes.

oh, I take that back. My core is ridiculously weak right now. Simply sitting up from bench presses is pretty tough. I should probably begin core strength training now.
