oh man I spent my entire day sunday fixing/replacing brake shoes on my Cherokee. Those drums are a biiiiitch!
The next project whenever these shoes wear out is going to be drum-to-disc conversion.

I have to poke fun for a second...
For some reason, I hear so much love for Jeep Cherokees... yet everyone I know that drives one is constantly fixing the thing. And I'm not talking about upgrades ![]() On that note, my Mitsu is falling apart on me ![]() My own fault though, I haven't taken care of it over the past couple of years. Just too damn busy to drop it off all the way in Southfield to the dealership. That and the expense :P |

Leo Leo Leo...
Thing you gotta rememmber is that this Cherokee is a 10 yr old vehicle and I am not a mechanic. Neither is my friend who helped me, although he is mechanically inclined and "very observant" when it comes to things like that (he builds his own rifles, knows quite a lot about cars, but has no formal training that I know of). And replacing brake shoes is routine maintenance for a vehicle with 103k miles ![]() I've had the car for over a year now, other than the brakes I've had to replace some hoses that were dry rotted, but otherwise the Jeep's been a great car.

I still love those beat up gas guzzlers
My list of cars that I want: Nissan GT-R Audi S5 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 Suburu WRX Volks R32 Side note, want to try to meet up for this Saturday's UFC event? We usually go to Red Ox in shelby township (Hall Rd next to D&B). They have the best screens there. I'm currently seeing if someone could babysit. I'll let you know. |

I'm glad I found this thread! I'm down in Toledo. It's nice to know who the "locals" are in this forum. I'm excited to get back up to Crystal Mountain. They build some really nice features there and the price isn't too bad considering how nice the resort is. I also love heading east to 7Springs. From Toledo, the drive is exactly the same to Traverse City or 7Springs, so I just go where the best snow is.
I'm actually building a ramp tomorrow afternoon to take up to our cottage in southwest michigan. We have two small hills and we're going to get a banshee for some fun, free airtime. Leo, it sounds like we're about at the same level of progression (you're probably slightly ahead of me). We should ride this winter when the snow finally gets here. |

Hey welcome to the thread! You will learn that Leo is elusive. Some say he is not actually a real person. I tend to agree he is an anomaly, like Neo in the Matrix.
Or rather, our schedules have just never sync'd up. Definitely stay in touch on this thread though, a lot of us are always looking for people to road trip with up north, and if you're heading up to Michigan chances are you're driving right past some of us we can meet & carpool or whatever. I've never ridden 7 Springs but I want to get down there someday although this winter I think I'm trying to go to Snowshoe WV.
