Well I have my official visit to Michigan Tech for football this weekend. I'm tempted to bring my gear with me, but I have a full schedule so I don't think I'm gonna have time to ride, not to mention 20 total hours of driving time in 1 weekend.

I'll hopefully be back at PK regularly after this weekend. I need to go stock up on shell passes.

I didn't see anyone down at the rail jam in Plymouth on Sunday...

Too bad it was a pretty good time all things considered. One of the features had broken on Saturday so all they had was this beginner-sized battleship funbox about 2ft wide but perfect for learning & trying new things.

There were only like 6 people riding it all day so we sessioned it for a good 2-2.5 hours in the afternoon. We busted out the GoPro and I slapped together a really short sneak-peek video last night. I'll put together a slightly longer one later this week with some better tricks probably.

nice dave! the kids looked like they prettymuch sucked, hah. i'll say you won the comp! like the overhead shot too. how'd you manage that?

There were two guys there maybe early 20's tops, you saw them in the video. They weren't that good but at least were out there trying. And there were a handful of grommets on plastic snowboards this one kid was on the shittiest snowboard I've ever seen but he was trying EVERYTHING. Like trying to 360 off the box and stuff. If you put him on a real board he'd be killing it in no time!

So yeah... Jon & I were easily the best riders there, but that's not exactly saying much

We got a boom stick for the GoPro and just mount it on there so we can get creative camera angles. Works well in a setup like this or a backyard but they're a pain in the ass to carry around a ski resort.

I'll be signing on a 4000$ scholarship a week from Wednesday, and I'll officially be a husky, and I'll have a season pass to Mt. Ripley...

Hopefully I back to riding soon but my legs are sore as hell as of late for no reason

i'm thinking bout doing a day sesh at AV on wednesday. i have the day off and i'll be driving back from Kzoo so its on the way! if you or anyone can ride wednesday lemme kno. this will be my first time at AV!

boo-urns I can't ride Wednesday.

You'll be stoked on AV if you want to do boxes/rails. Their jumps are skeery; very steep the only one I hit is closest to the lodge in the beginner park next to the triple chair. It's pretty mellow but everything else is steep as hell.

But they've got a ton of rail/box features from including a few 20 or 30 foot flat boxes that are awesome to boardslide. They've got some kinked boxes and small rails as well as a huge 30 foot flat pipe rail that's about 4" OD, and they recently put in a stair set with a down rail. I haven't hit those big boy features yet...

Just a heads up the Shell coupon is only good on Monday/Tuesday at Alpine so you'll be paying full fare.

thanks for the heads up dave. i didn't know they didn't accept the skifree after tues-i think i'll still try it out tho. your reviews got me pretty stoked! sounds like they got a nice lil set up there.
