I was going to email Marhar, only because I thought they might want to know the crummy way their boards are being rep'd. I don't understand why with them being a local MI. Co. that they don't have boards available in more places.

You know the runs were good. But I didn't like that nothing is marked very well. I had to unstrap and hoof it a few times because I ran out of speed trying to figure out which of those stupid 3-10 dozen little side trails leads to which lift.

That and I already wasted over an hour of ride time dealing with the Marhar board situation. They offered to let me demo any board for free, but aside from something called a "Grapid?" all of them were rcr hybrid camber & I already have a NS Proto. also WAY too short! (154! I'm 6' 235.) Wanted to try the "Rocker stash! I went and tried the Grapid, but the fucking rossi bindings were too fucking small! One run & I knew I need bigger bindings. I takeit back & ask if they have larger? "....Well, we could try switching out with the other boards & see if something fits."

....so now I'm supposed to waste more ride time cuz they don't know for certain if they have larger binders?????? W... T... F?

Mickey Mouse doesn't begin to describe the way that place is run!!!!

Hey Paul, might be heading up to Searchmont some weekend here. Worth the 5-6 hour drive for us do you think?

I would definately say, do it at least once. It depends on what you want to experience. Compared to Boyne it is not so much a resort but more like Nubs Nob where it's low key. There are some slopeside units but you'd probably be better off staying in the Sault. There are less runs, but the vertical and the ability is for someone more advanced, basically blues at Boyne are greens are Searchmont. Blacks at Searchmont don't compare to anything at Boyne..lol

The hill is not grass it's the Canadian Shield mountainous rock, so if you want to venture you can experience small cliffs etc..Easily you could spend 2 days there. Snow this year is great too

If you have any other questions let me know! PS the one pic above is probably only a quarter of the way up the mountain. Most runs are at least 1/2 mi long

Well my riding buddy and I are just looking for something different than what we usually do, which is small Lower Peninsula resorts. We don't really care about apres-ski night life or anything. We're just looking for something that isn't a ridiculous drive to get to that would offer more vertical and different terrain.

I think we're supposed to have rain Friday night and Saturday so that's not going to be any good for anyone.
