Yeah my understanding is that it's not a demo, they'll be out there riding and I think that's the whole point of it is that you get to go shred with some pros.

I talked to Jeff at Gateway and he said while there's no official itinerary he imagines it will be a mostly all-day affair on Saturday and then probably partial day on Sunday.

I'm gonna head up Sunday late morning probably.

Yeah Crystal on Sunday. Didn't you just say you'd leave Boyne at noon and come down to Crystal for a few laps? lol

Are they filming at all? If the weather's not too shitty tomorrow I might bring the boys over there to watch, but I probably won't bring my board.

I gotta hook up with Jeff and the crew some time soon. He's got a little cabin up in Charlevoix that he packs out with 10 of us. It's always a blast.

Leo's right...

Never really an issue with the money for me it's more about the time. I can put in a half day of park laps at Alpine or Brighton and be home by early afternoon. Hell, even if I drive further to Hawk, same deal because Hawk is so small and you get so many laps in so fast you get worn out pretty quickly.

I honestly don't know how you guys ride for 8 or 9 hours. You must not be riding hard enough :P

Could I get away with day-trips? Yeah, but there's no way I'd be getting 40+ days if I was doing that. So it's a tradeoff in my case I put the emphasis on quantity over quality (because frankly IMO there is not *that* much of a difference between these resorts and the ones up north, glades aside).

I can swing the occasional day trip, but the timing has to be right and there has to be a good incentive for me like 6"+ of fresh snow or something. I figure I get a pass on maybe two of these a season, and that's pushing it, and since I haven't planned an out west/Bohemia trip yet I'm banking all my brownie points

I can't go 8-9 hours. Usually about 4-5 hours in and I'm beat.

You guys live in a great area for small commuter hills and in a shitty area for anything else.

Well to be fair, the only really close places for me are Canonsburg, Hawk Island and maybe Brighton but that one is still a solid hour. I'm not a park guy at all and these are all park places. So for me if I'm gonna drive over an hour to Holly or Bittersweet, then I might as well spend another hour and a half or so and head to a Caberfae or Crystal. Our geographic difference is the key here.

True. I made the transition to more of a park-oriented rider, kind of out of necessity. I'd rather ride steeps and trees and powder, but there just isn't any. So I challenge myself with park stuff to get my fix.

For sure. If these places were 2h instead of 4, it would be easier to justify.

Pretty much this. Once my park days ended (not long after they began lol) the SE hills lost any draw for me. I'll still ride them to hang with the guys because I'm more of a social rider than some of you hardcore guys but I need steeps, long runs and speed to get my blood pumping now.
