Sneak peak of next year's Marhar, made right in Grand Rapids MI. They've got at least one new board in their lineup (Bohemian, pictured below) that is designed as a pow-specific twin. It's namesake may be an homage to Mt. Bohemia in the UP. I didn't ask -- it literally just crossed my mind as I'm typing this. This board is about as sexy as it gets, graphically. At least, to my old-man taste in board graphics, that is.

They're making a few changes throughout their lineup as well but I think these will be some minor variations on existing boards.

I don't think anyone outside of the company has had a chance to ride them yet, until SIA in Denver in a few weeks... I'll be sure to get on this one and probably a few others at Test Fest in February.

Yes, not just for safety, but because it's warm and has zippers for my headphones to go into. Nice because I can carry a conversation with background music.

I have a Smith Maze and don't feel like it's weighing me down or anything wearing it. Nice thing too is that on warm days the ear muffs come off.

Anybody get out to PK or Holly this weekend? How're the conditions? Snow holding up, or is it getting icy? I Wasn't able to get out all weekend, but thinking I might try to get in a couple hours tomorrow am before work.

...damned if I didn't get a flare up in my hip sat morning! Haven't had this pain in several years now. This was the one I used to get where I would wake up screaming!! (Fortunately it didn't get that severe this time.) ...just enough to keep me home and REALLY pissed!

Getting old is definitely NOT for pussies!

Got up to Crystal for a bit this morning. Got there at 9 (was at my mom's place last night), drove thru some crazy bad roads but it was worth it. Several inches of fresh on top of that corduroy that Chomps loves so much. Was first tracks or close to it on several runs and the glades were the best I've been in all year. It was just tremendous. To hell with having fresh corduroy to myself, I'll have the pow please. (just giving you a hard time Chomsy boy)

On a bummer note, my older brother and only sibling is at the hospital up in Munson (Traverse) right now. They sent him there via ambulance from Manistee because the hospital there couldn't do the surgery he needed to remove infectious tissue and fluid from his chest cavity. Sounds like he's there for at least another several days. He has downs syndrome and lots of health issues. Fuck I'm stressed, but the couple hours of riding was therapeutic for me today.

My uncle's in the same hospital right now in a coma too, he's only 57. It's like WTF man?

Oh and Evilball, you're a dad, wear a helmet bro.

Look for videos how to set flows up properly, it might take some trial and error to get it just right. Honestly I can't wait until I pick some up with the nasty system on them.

....I never said I "Loved" corduroy? What I said was, I do love it when the groomers are soft n fresh. Not all hard and icy! The board will ride really sweet in that, cutting and carving nice deeply grooved lines in the stuff! Falling on that hard icy shit is like falling on a cheese grater!

I'll take a few inches (...or more!) of fresh over corduroy ANY day! But how often do we get that down here? More to the point, How often do we get it where I can get out to the local to enjoy it?? Seems it's always falling when I'm working/driving! So, best case, the next day I'm usually stuck with the groomed remains! That being the case, It's great when I can manage to get it all to myself for a while!

Headed out this morning to see if I get the place to myself again!

On a serious note,.. sorry to hear about your family's health troubles! Pos vibes for their recovery! (....without snowboarding to relieve some of my stress? Well, can you spell Water Tower! )

Eh, I was just fucking with you Chomps.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. Brother's surgery went good and they're keeping him there for the week to monitor and let more of that fluid drain out. Uncle's condition isn't improving though. Sucks because I grew up with and am close with his only son. But I went through my own dad dying 6 years ago so at least I can offer him the right kind of advice and support.

Really wish I could ride today, but have the boys at home today and no available sitter. Maybe I could build a small kicker in the yard or something, but I don't really have the ambition right now.

Whelp!! Sucks to be me this morning! I75 is closed at Sashabaw rd. I have been up since 5:30, checked TWC. The 3 Local TV forecasts, my weather apps on the phone, not 1 single report of freezing drizzle or iced roads until after 8:00!!! Had my car loaded, running, when WWJ reported the road closure on 75!

-sigh-
I suppose I will get to see how good my new Merino Wool base layer undies are tomorrow in sub zero temps!
