Nice gear grab man. If you do go to Cannonsburg, PM me or post it here. I MAY try to get out there Sunday evening if I can. But it won't be any earlier than that probably.

Shit! Sounds like everyone's got some decent riding planned for the weekend. I just made my room reservations for 6 days @ Highlands 1st week of Feb. hope the polar vortex doesn't peter out before. I'm really hoping for a good dump of LE. to give me some good deep fresh to play with.

So far, my epic plans of lots of midweek riding at the locals and a few long weekend deep days like at the end of last up north? Those plans are not gelling much yet. Oh well, still got 3 months to ride. Maybe longer. Boyne was still open first weekend of may last year and they only had about half the base for the year that they've got right now!!!

Who knows,... Maybe a mid May, Spring riding meet up for the MRF?

Edit-
Stay safe. Drive careful! I didn't mind or worry too much about those WO drives in my 4x4, but even tho the new Focus seems to handle pretty well in the shit? I just don't have that same feeling of confidence or security. Too small to feel safe in I guess. Have a blast guys. I'll b thinkin' boutcha @ PK!

Well, I sat here looking at the forum at 6 pm tonight and decided I'd rather snowboard than read and post about it. So I said fuck it, threw my gear together and drove to Cannonsburg. Only took me 45 minutes to get there, will probably go again (had not been there since my first time ever riding and that was only the bunny hill). Had a good time.

I learned a few things:
1. Don't ride down unlit trails at night if you are unfamiliar with the place. Especially narrowish black diamonds.
2. If you do make this mistake, you literally can't see anything and have to revert to your blindfolded Kung Fu/Jedi training to feel your way in the dark. Especially if you are stupid enough not to slow down.
3. Feelings of free falling as you hit a steep section that you didn't know was there are indications of actual free falling as your board detaches from the ground momentarily. This feeling is both more terrifying and more fun when you literally can't see anything.
4. Icy unkept patches are difficult to negotiate when you can't see them and anticipate them. But if you relax it is amazingly doable.
5. I am a better rider than I give myself credit for because I managed not to fall during this mistake I made.

Don't worry, I knew there was no one else on that run. First off it was closed, secondly we were the only ones using this lift when it happened.

45mins isn't bad at all. It's getting crazy out right now, leaving in a few hours for Boyne and I think it's going to take an extra hour to get there.

It's only going to get worse, drive safe brotha. That goes for all you guys traveling today.

Me? I convinced the boss to let me work from home today to avoid the fucking magic show of a commute that I would otherwise have this afternoon in this storm that's coming. #WINNING

I hope the drive isn't as bad as you guys are making it sound. On the plus, John Dee says 4-8" will be waiting for me on Saturday morning;

Just get up there early Sam and I think you'll be alright. The worst of it is supposed to hit later today and tonight. Also, I think the worst of it will probably be along the 131 corridor and west of that in terms of snowfall. But the winds will be a killer across the whole state.

Take it easy I'm sure you'll be fine. Like you and I talked about before, bad roads are the tradeoff for good snow right?

I can't leave town any earlier than 5pm so it will be right in the middle of it. Wife recently started a new gig so no time off yet to leave town early.
