I'm outta here,...
I think I am trying to leave on Friday morning. Most likely the plan is Boyne Mountain on Friday, Nub's on Saturday and then maybe a few hours at Boyne again on Sunday.

Yesterday was not too shabby at Boyne. Warm but not too. Bumped and pushed all to hell by noon-1 O'clock, but mostly good fast spring slush & corn. Practiced getting my short tighter turns locked down on the steeps in it. Didn't do too bad as long as I kept my turns nice & tight, the speed down and didn't get launched off the push piles or bumped out of a toeside turn!

Today was not quite as nice. It got well into the 50's and although some of the runs had some fast corn, Where ever it wasn't pushed into huge piles,.. there were shitload patches of velcro snow everywhere to muck up any attempt at a good fast run. Today was more like work.

It's not looking like it will even get below freezing tonight, so I imagine first chair tomorrow is likely going to be the best conditions for the day. probably be on my way home by noon.

You guys are lucky. My wife is over it. I kept prodding for this weekend but she wasn't having it. She said I could go without her, and I know it wasn't a test...I prolly should have taken her up on the offer.

Sweet! The backside here off disciples lift got groomed last thing this morning. So,.. Front side where all the damned skiiers are congregating? Hard and crunchy. Back here where I'm all by my lonesome? There are a few runs with soft, FRESH corduroy to play in!!!

...gotta be careful tho. Some is a narrow band of soft between set up shit! Easy to swing into n wipe out!

A "test" lol. Even if it was, I probably would've just said whatever and failed it

Nah, I think I got a test yesterday, and opted to stay home. If I had anyone to meet me up at Hawk, I think I would've ridden though. Just didn't feel like taking it solo, plus I have this weekend coming up which hopefully weather will not suck too badly.

FML. I knew I should've gone up yesterday. Figured I could sneak out for a bit today but with the rain in the forecast Hawk is not opening today. I'd figure they probably won't open tomorrow, either since there's ~1" of rain in the forecast tonight.

I was bored last night so I made this quick little clip. I don't have very much footage this year, but hopefully I have enough (and maybe get a little more next weekend) to make a better video later this spring.

....that wifey, reverse psychology, stealth guilt thing is amazingly effective! Ain't it?

Today was "Perfect" spring conditions! It got really warm, almost hot, but no velcro snow anywhere today! Just very fast corn n slush. Light crowd, Lots of fun!

You guys shoulda been there!

made it up to Hawk today for a minute. Bummed they are not doing the extended Spring Break hours this year, because it's easier for me to (skip work, unnoticed) get there in the morning, but it is what it is.

It was pretty melty. About 60 degrees. The rain yesterday hurt them -- not many features up today because of it, but they will recover. They still do have a shitload of snow -- the exposed western face of the hill is still somehow blanketed in snow and they finally closed the tubing hill for the season, so all that snow becomes terrain park snow, soon.

Leaving 7am on Friday to Nub's and then probably Boyne Mountain on Saturday.
