Yeah but even this forecast looks bad for me. I wouldn't b leaving until sat morning. So by the time I get there, I'm looking at mostly chances of rain. Can't see driving all that way and maybe getting rain. If like you, I could get a day n half or two before? Yeah, I'd proly go for it too.

what time would you leaving? Get there early at 9am, they close at 4 or 430 this time of year. Looks like rain hits sometime after 2pm, that's still a pretty solid day. Forecast is no longer showing rain on Sunday at Nub's and they've backed off the forecast at Boyne, too. Still saying "rain" but fractions of a fraction of an inch... it's going to be colder turning to snow with 1-3" possible (mostly late Sunday, though).

Well, I work till 11:00 fri. night, so I wouldn't get on the road before 6-7 am. sat. (...Gotta get some sleep.) I usually get there around 10:30-11. So if that forecast moves up even a little early, sat could end up being be a wash for me! Just don't know if it's worth the time & money for such a sketchy forecast?

Don't get me wrong,... I wanna go! I really am a "degenerate" snowboarder, so I'm definitely irresponsible enough to spend the money I don't really have! I just don't want to spend it and then get 2-3 hours of riding rainy slush for the entire weekend!

-edit-
Now the 10 day forecast,.. It shows cold night time temps and not so warm highs next week. So the snow should recover some. (...I hope!) I think I might just save the coin this weekend and pull an overnighter next sat.

Yeah next week might be pretty good, but it's Easter. If you do make it, you'll be the only one there, literally. I've got family commitments on Sunday at minimum, but probably also on Saturday, so that's a wash. I am crossing my fingers for a day trip possibly in May...

Nub's is still reporting 76" base. If Boyne is anywhere near that, they could pretty easily keep a few trails and lifts open...

I'm gonna keep a close eye on that rain forecast, so it's still possible I might show up this weekend. Got my fingers crossed!

OK so here's the scoop for anyone who still cares (I'm guessing at this point it is only Chomps lol)

Nub's was good on Friday, mid-50's, sunny, light breeze. Super slush snow, but not too slow, rideable and enjoyable. The park was alright, not what I expected from Nub's but at this point in the season you can't fault them for it. They had a few jumps, nothing enormous, and about 8 or so different jibs & rails.

Boyne was great on Saturday, overnight temps were low enough to firm up overnight and daytime high only made it to the mid-40's, overcast all day which made flat light but kept the snow sliding pretty good. 75% of the terrain was still open and in really good shape. Snow was heavy slushy spring snow but you could carve a line down anything, no matter how steep, no ice anywhere. The park was good, only two smaller jumps but the jibs were more and better than Nub's. Others said it was not as impressive of a build as last year, but I thought it was still pretty good.

No lift lines. Turnout was good at Boyne, marginal at Nub's where there were maybe only 40 cars in the parking lot.

Long-term forecast has overnight lows in the 30's for the foreseeable future, I think Boyne will make it to May pretty easily.

Got that right! I plan on going for an overnighter this weekend. (...my back has been acting up & doing some strange shit, so I'm a little nervous about this coming sat/sun!)

What's the story on that core shot?

I'm going to learn how to p-tex a board, I guess

It's one hell of a core shot actually, about the size (length & width) of two knuckle's worth of pinky finger. Pics for those who didn't see it:

There were some large dirt patches between runs where it hadn't been groomed. One of 'em was massive in length, and I know I came up a few feet short (had it been steeper, it would've been an easy gap...) all I can think of is that there was a rock or something under one of those dirt spots.
