Hiking sucks.

Not sure but I'd wager it's easier to maintain deeper snow over a smaller surface area for a longer period of time.

Features are still holding up pretty well though. I'm hoping they do make it until next weekend -- Tyler says they will and I guess he knows 1000% more about that stuff than I do, but it looks like the warm is here to stay for a while so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Well don't be too bummed! My weekend plans just got fouled up as well. I'm gonna move my res. to next sat. Since it's not a holiday, Maybe we can get a few ppl from this forum to head up for proly one of the last (...or close to it) weekends that anything will b open.

This'll give me a chance to get to the Chiro again for another G! D! adjustment anyway!

I'm still gunning for May. I think next weekend is going to be mandatory yard work, since this weekend is 100% eaten up by family stuff and I was gone last weekend. If Hawk is able to open next weekend, I will go there most likely. Otherwise I think I can probably get away with a day trip in May. Maybe I will bring the wife & kid for the water park or whatever.

My rib is almost definitely broken. It just gets worse. I remember that from last time -- it gets worse every day for 4-5 days. Last night after 2 days of riding park at Hawk it was pretty rough. I had a "Leo" moment this morning, washing my hair and all of a sudden excruciating pain in my ribs, must've been the way I was raising my arms over my head or whatever, but fuck did that hurt.

That's cool too. Im planning on going up in May if they're still open. Be cool If we can get a few other members to join in and ride the brownish slush!

The busted rib sucks! Hope it's better soon. Ironically, That's partly the sort of issue that fould my plans tomorrow. Been nursing something that started in my back and has now settled into my L hip. It's making walking, standing, getting in n out of the car n my rig at work an absolute misery. Today it's much worse AND physically I've been feeling ill all day.

Im at work, but only cuz I'm out of sick days. (...honestly? The way I feel right now? Might not make it thru my shift anyway!)

Whelp fellas,.. This is it! Boyne's website says this weekend is the last for the season! They've lost 20" in base according to their snow report.

Last chance to add to my days riding count. I'm going up sat morning.

Gaaaaaahhh. I want to go but I don't know how I can swing this one...

I was hoping Hawk would be open even for shitty dirt laps but just got word that they're done for the season (and probably for good, long story).

Jackie is going to be in Pittsburgh for work on Friday returning Friday evening, if she wasn't gone I could possibly sell this as a family weekend with the waterpark/etc. so I wouldn't be able to do that, and it's unlikely she'd want to get up at 5 or 6am on Saturday to drive up there.

So if (and this is a big "IF") I can go, I'd probably have to leave the hill by 230pm latest. Lots of driving for not much riding but it is worth it. If I can get away with it...

Here's full story on Hawk Island.
