Alright everyone since Summer is over, fall has just begun and we've already had our first rail jam of the year, it's time to start a new thread for the 10/11 winter.

Last year we had the "Southeast" michigan thread, but I think we should do all of Michigan. Sure, most of population lives in S/E michigan but we all ride the same resorts in the LP and even the UP if we get a chance, so we should have one thread to bring everyone together.

Cheers everyone we're probably only like 70 days from open resorts!

You didn't miss anything by skipping PK today it was bulletproof ice and windy. WOuld've been a total waste for a solo ride, but I met a friend up there and one of his friends so we just messed aroudn in the small park and that made it a pretty fun time. but today was not a good day for riding groomers. The corduroy was like rumble strips on the freeway.

This is only a test! If this was a Real Steeze alert,..

...You would have been given instructions on where to contact the OP for an endorsement deal!!

This is a partial edit from yesterday @ PK. I got Leo to followcam me for a couple of runs. I'm posting this now because I wanted to first see if I could embed this properly and also just get a little general feedback from the other MWRF members on my riding. I'll post the final edit on the general forum when it's finished!

...here goes nuthin'!

...I saw you getting that Arbor nose off the snow though. The Garage Rocker would have been good to record you on.
Hey Sam!! Hope you're feeling a bit better!!

Yeah, the Rome does butter nice! I thought that first I'd show that I can do it with the stiffer Arbor Directional board, but in most of these it does look like I barely got the nose up! (...Also, not making excuses, I haven't been riding with my Camelbak much this year, but I had it on for most of these shots & it definitely threw me off!)

After editing some of the Buttering footage and along with Leo's "Kind & Thoughtful" Intro,.. I thought this music was appropriate for the footage and in my opinion, makes it "Funny as Hell!!"

Hillbilly hill slidin'!! :D Let me know what you think!

haha!

Awesome, the music was perfect when you started spinning.

You're looking great on switch and props on spinning both ways. I think I have only done them one direction, it never occurred to me to go the other way.

You know, in all seriousness...if I had to break my damn back I wish I would have done it at the end of the day so I could have ridden with you guys more.

I dunno if I'd say I'm doing much better. I would say that the biggest battle I'm facing is mental. I struggle with being so stupid useless and then (because I have so much mobility) I push it trying to do things I shouldn't and I hurt myself again. I won't even get into the agony of missing out on the season. That's affected me more than I'm going to get into here. Just being real.

But I always remind myself. At least it wasn't worse and I can still ride the rest of my days.

while we're sharing vids, here's a quick edit from two weekends ago. It's still a draft that I have to tighten up the editing a little bit and get some zoom on some of the shots, but figured I'd share anyways.

Wish we would've had the camera out yesterday despite the awful icy conditions I think we might've gotten some good shots.

this isn't me, but here's some of the features I have tried or am in the process of getting it down, up here at Searchmont. (about 1hr 20 mins north of highlands)

Going to be at the Highlands within the next 3 weeks, can't wait to see what they have together as I've only been to nubs so far this year.

You guys should consider a trip up if you have your passport, the terrain is longer and a little more challenging than the boynes.

I have heard good things about Searchmont (and bad things like it's frigid cold, but I can deal with that :)) but unfortunately it falls in that realm of just far enough away that I can't really get away with the drive for a weekend, and if I'm going for longer than a weekend I usually try to head out West, but someday I would like to get up there & check it out. Unfortunately with a 9mo old daughter at home and a wife who's already getting slightly annoyed (but she does a good job of hiding it) at my addiction, it will not be this year.

Dude,.. Honestly not trying to be a smart ass or give you too hard a time but,.. The name of the place is mentioned in his post,.. It's also in the opening frames of the vid,...

G-o-o-o-o-gle isour Fri-e-e-e-e-nd! :eusa_clap:;)

Honestly it's not really much colder than you'd be used to at Boyne, if that.

@ankkassa it was at searchmont resort, which is just north of sault ste marie michigan and ontario.

I've been out the past friday and saturday nights as we've been just pummelled with fresh powder :yahoo:

so much better than having to order "fries with gravy" too.

Just make sure there's a good chunk open before you venture up. They have been running as a not for profit the past few years, so while it's awesome to support local, they don't have a massive snowmaking budget like the big boys

:( Gonna be up @ Highlands Friday! :) What's a "One Eyed Betty?"

#2,713 ·
Damn!! Boyne Mt. is claiming 15+" in the last 72 hours!!! They say they've gotten 8-10 of pure powder in the last few days!! I hope it isn't all tracked & packed to shit by Fri.

Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease,.. P-u-u-hl-e-e-e-e-Zah!!!! :hope::hope:

Rode Caberfae this past Saturday. Of course the one day it was above freezing and rained out of the whole week was the day we went. At least the rain let up and we had a good time, though I took a bad spill on my second to last run catching a heel on some slush at the bottom of Lower Canyon. Neck hurts like hell from the whiplash but all's good.

Of course on the ride back downstate on Sunday we had a blizzard and nice fluffy snow. I almost turned around and went back...but of course if I had it would have stopped snowing, warmed up and started raining again. FML!

Not trying to sound like a dbag or anything but I watched this on my iPhone so I didn't hot see any title or captions saying the location and I don't see how googling that could have helped but w.e. no hard feelings just going to watch it on my pc.
Don't worry we're all dbags on this forum :)

Damnit!!! (...sigh) I may be looking at a REAL shitshow @ Highlands this weekend!!!
Boyne's web site has nothing available for lodging, B. Mt or Highlands. I got the last room they had available @ the BW I stay @ in Harbor springs! (...@ a ridiculously high rate I might add!)

I guess we've all been s-o-o-o-o desperate for decent snow here in MI. that EVERYFUKINBODY is headed up north this weekend? I'd say Fuckit but I know I'm desperate, and the way things have been going, who knows. This might actually be the best snow we get up there this season! :dunno:

Sabatoa,.. what we saw @ Boyne Mt. over the holiday's might have been nuthin' compared to what I afraid I'm gonna see this weekend! (Fuck!!) :( :RantExplode:

#2,731 ·
Hey Sabatoa,
Thanks for the Remind!!! I'll do that!! :D

#2,733 ·
WTF????? OMG! ....is that a Sinkhole or sum shit???? When, How??

#2,738 ·
Actually, thinking about it, if the pipe was deeper than about 2-3 feet, it probably wasn't in frozen ground anyway! It's not like we get permafrost up there!

That's F'd UP!!!!! Anybody hurt??
