When did you start? How are you doing so far? I started in January, I stick to greens up north and moderate blues down here.

Once my ankle is healthy I'll start experimenting with little tricks here and there I think.

I just started like 2 weeks before christmas and I've been doing pretty good so far, I don't fall as much so thats a plus lol I pretty much stick to the same runs as you do, I'm pretty sure I just need to be more confident when I'm riding and I'll keep progressing, but of course just as I feel like I'm getting somewhere the season ends. As far as tricks I want to try them sometime, my girlfriend almost got me to try to hit a box up north but I chickened out lol oh well

Hmm, we oughta have a beginner's sesh sometime in December. Is there a good, neutral location between Mt. Pleasant, Lansing, and GR?

Not really. There is basically nothing in the center of the state. Cannonsburg would be close to Lansing & GR but it would be a hike for those in Detroit-area. Apple Mountain, Snowsnake are closest to Mt. P but I've never been. Pretty much everything "up north" is a 4-hour drive from Detroit, slightly less from GR. Then all the stuff on the East side like Mt. Holly is close to Lansing but still 2hrs from Mt. P and probably 3hrs from GR.

the tough part is coordinating people's schedules along with the weather we can't go too early in the season or there wn't be enough snow, we can't go too late or the resorts might be closed, we can't go in February because it always thaws, we can't do new year's weekend because it always rains, etc.

I am all for trying to organize something next winter we may even be able to get a "group" rate or discount on lodging or lift tickets, etc.

I would recommend Crystal Mountain (affordable lodging in Cadillac about 25 mins away) or Boyne Mountain (affordable options in Gaylord 15 minutes away).

Maybe we can all find one night to go hang out at Bdubs or something while we wait for winter. I watch UFC a lot so that is an option.
