That's on the list for sure. That and pictured rocks. It will all be new to me too. The only part of the UP that I'm familiar with is St Ignace to Escanaba on HWY 2.

Thanks for the heads up on the bug spray, I wouldnt have thought of that.

things are getting quiet around here! well i haven't put my board away yet. i determined to get one more session in this year. funds are kinda low at the moment but tax money should be coming soon!

I'm quietly debating going up north this weekend. I saw Nubs advertise that they would be open. Like you, $$ are low so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Some guy at Summit in E.L. was talking about longboard. It almost sounds like I'd be into it except for that whole concrete thing.

leo: hah, yea i have plenty of spring hobbies but after the spring riding i had experienced last year, im determined to get another session on one of those warm, sunny days! im looking at the wknd of april 15-16. i'm sure someone will be open still. if not i'll put the stick away for the year! the slopes still have plenty of snow. i'm sure at this point, it's whether they're selling enough lift tix to justify keeping the hills open.

i was at modern in E.L. a week ago looking at their boards. they have sum pretty sick Never Summer long boards in stock! go check em out dude!

Summit Sports carries them too. Word on the street is, their warehouse just received the 2011 line of NS longboards. Stores will get them in soon. They still have some 2010 models in there as well.

A note to you guys. Summit Sports sells them with stock parts. They don't switch out the trucks and wheels to make the board cheaper so you might find them cheaper elsewhere due to that fact.

How are longboards to ride on flat ground? Do you need a hill? will it act like a skate board on flat ground?
