LOL I read they ended up with 1"+ of fresh snow this morning to close out the season at Boyne. Would've been fun

Hey guys, need your help. Can't decide between picking up a longboard or a helmet cam.

Longboard would be a Never Summer Assualt

Helmet cam would be a Contour. Maybe a Hero, but I'm not too fond of the fishbowl effect.

Do you have a longboard already or nothing at all?

hmm.

I've got the Drift Stealth and I love it but then there's the whole summer activities thing.

What would you use the camera for? I got mine so I could try and learn how to get better.

I've always wanted footage of myself. There's a few out there, but my friends take their sweet time uploading them haha. Obviously, I would use it for more than snowboarding. I might even just use it as a normal video camera since it's so compact.

if you want to use it as a normal video camera I'd stay away from either the Contour or the GoPro get a compact camera with HD capability. You can get the Kodak Zi8 which is a small point-and-shoot about the size of a cell phone, for about $120 I think.

I don't have much experience with the Contour but the GoPro doesn't work to well as a normal video camera primarily because of the fisheye, depth perception gets sketchy because everything that's not very close looks very far away. Neither the Contour nor the GoPro have a zoom capability and the audio quality on both of them blows.

I have a handheld already, although it's not HD. Quality is good enough for me though.

If I use it for normal purposes, it would be for fun. Not events like birthdays. I'll use my handheld for that. The Contour has the fishbowl too, but not nearly as much as the Hero.

I think it would be cool to find a way to strap the camera to my husky when he's running in the yard haha.
