it was a legit "in the air" 180 ollie. frontside. the backside spin is weird to me but even the fs spin is kind of funky I am probably doing it wrong because it is more like a shuvit where the board is going, so I'm also trying to work on those soon, too because they feel more natural now that I'm figuring out the 180.

sweet man. my ollies are better than they were last year but they still aren't pretty. i think i need to concentrate on swiping my front foot. i think it basically just stays in place and i think thats why i can't always get my board off the ground. i need to suck up my knees more too. best thing about skateboarding: its free!

damn dude nobody has been on here in over a month...

Anyways I broke out the MTB a few times already and yes I am thoroughly out of shape but boardaddicktd mentioned possibly meeting up one night after work next week at Bald Mountain to go for a ride. Anyone else want to tag along?

Yo dudes I used to post last season a little bit in this thread (I bought a '10 Banana Magic) as I used to live in MI but about 5 months ago I moved out to Denver, CO.

This thread popped up while I was searching for a movie editing software to use with the GoPro - any suggestions?

BTW - A-basin is STILL open (this might be the last weekend their open though...).

I didn't get to get out very much when I moved here (only went 3 times, A-basin, Loveland for the first time ever, and Keystone), but next season I am gonna tear shit up. Got the GoPro so I'll be taking that along with me.

I use Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. I've only used it a few times but I like what I've seen so far.

Hatin' on you for boarding still. hah

I also use Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. My major gripe is that I don't think it can handle 60fps footage. If it can, please tell me how because I've looked everywhere to figure it out, and there's no setting that I can find to work with any framerate greater than 29.97 fps.

Also, I have trouble working with multiple large files (400MB - 1GB or more) but I think this is a function of my POS laptop not having enough juice to deal with files that large.

Also hating you for still boarding. I was considering cashing in my Delta miles in order to go to Tahoe this weekend or possibly next weekend, but decided against it, gonna save them for next winter instead.

Do you love that Banana Magic?

It is an awesome board. I mostly freeride and it is great everywhere.

Cannot wait to tear it up next season.

Just bought my Epic Pass for next season: Unlimited Vail, Beaver Creek, Breck, A-Basin, Keystone and Northstar and Heavenly at Tahoe.

I actually cannot wait for winter. Watching some videos and now that I have the GoPro - I am wishing that it was December right now instead of summer. Most of my buddies who moved here before me all got about 26+ days in this past season - so I hope to get somewhere around there. They are aiming for 40 days next season.

I am really excited to start riding better. I consider myself a pretty advanced freerider, as I've been snowboarding for like 15 years now. There are no in-bounds runs that I would not ride. With that said, I really want to try and get better this year. I want to be able to consistently hit 3's or more. I'm not really interested in the park, but would rather bust a 3 off of a cliff in blue sky basin or something. At least that's my goal for this upcoming season. I'm 27 now and just moved to Colorado - so now is the time to elevate my game.

Where'd you guys get your software?

Yeah Leo would be super mad if you didn't like the Magic. He even told me he would not be my friend if I didn't love that board.

Nice. You kids in the CO are so lucky... I'd pay the same amount for a season pass to Mt. Holly or Pine Knob, but not combined...

Fortunately I snagged a season pass to Crystal Mountain for $225 back in April so that will take care of me hopefully, even though Crystal is 4hrs drive, I can get up there on weekends.

Aim higher homie. I got 36 this year. 2 in CO and 5 in UT but the other 29 were in MI. And I work a full-time desk jockey job. 40 was my goal last year, and if it hadn't been for that thaw over New Year's weekend, or if the slopes had stayed open a few more days in march, I probably would've made it. (Or if I had not gone to Miami for 5 days with the wife...)

I started riding more park just because that is all we have in Michigan. When I go out west, I don't do any park though, I just ride the trees and steeps and groomers. If I had terrain like that, I might never ride park, but then again, sliding boxes and rails on a sunny day is pretty fun, too.

If you ride 30+ days, and you ride with other people who are decent or better than you, it is inevitable that you will get better. Sometimes just seeing a new trick in person is all it takes to help you figure out the mechanics of it. I can pop the occasional bs 360 off little rollers or side hits but I am too chickenshit to do them on jumps. I need to get over that fear...

I'm still amazed you got so many days in. I'll track myself this coming season.

I think I got in 10-15 days last year. Started in January and basically tried to go every other weekend.

You got me interested in Crystal next time.

Is there anything I can do during the summer to keep improving? Will strapping in and working ollies or 180's on my flat lawn help or is it just silly?
