Alright everyone since Summer is over, fall has just begun and we've already had our first rail jam of the year, it's time to start a new thread for the 10/11 winter.

Last year we had the "Southeast" michigan thread, but I think we should do all of Michigan. Sure, most of population lives in S/E michigan but we all ride the same resorts in the LP and even the UP if we get a chance, so we should have one thread to bring everyone together.

Cheers everyone we're probably only like 70 days from open resorts!

I'm more than likely down for that. Already have a shell ticket waiting to be used. Evo should be here this week so that gives me an excuse to go out. You should pick up the Proto from me tomorrow or even tonight. I don't have time to wax it because I'm going through an ordeal with the apartment right now.

I'll give you the story later over beer or something haha. You can use my wax so you don't waste yours if you want as well.

Garrett: Sounds like PK it is.

Leo: not sure if I'd be able to connect with you to get that Proto tonight, looks like a long night of work for me and I'm also trying to set up some PVC in my backyard before the snow melts again. I am also going to try to ride maybe on Sunday or one day early next week before I go to Miami for a few days. If you can make it on Thursday PM just bring it with you, that'll be the easiest route I think.

David: I can bring it with me, but my point was that I can't wax it. I definitely will if I manage to find time, otherwise I can just bring it and you ride as is. It's not terrible, I only rode it once after fresh wax. Just looks dry to me, but maybe that's what the soy wax looks like after a sesh?

Maverick: For sure, I'll bring the Flows.

This is of course if I can even go lol. Chances are it's a go though.

By the way, I'm literally a mile off of 59 and Adams.

Understood - I was just figuring I'd pick it up from you tomorrow night, wax it over the weekend, ride it sunday or monday, and then return it to you. But I might be tempted to take it for a few turns anyways :)

I am going to try to be there ~5pm. It looks like the weather might not be the greatest with a chance of wintry mix early in the day (noonish) but it should clear up by mid-afternoon and hopefully if the temps stay above freezing it won't be awful conditions.

So, the girlfriend wants to hit up Bittersweet sometime this week. Cannonsburg and Pando are a bit of a hike for her (well, actually Bittersweet is too, but whatever). Does anybody know how the snow is at any of the aforementioned places?

As long as it doesn't get cold enough to freeze overnight, and as long as it doesn't dump a bunch of rain, conditions will be tolerably slow & slushy :)

I know the West side got some snow last weekend and earlier in the week but I imagine they also are experiencing some thaw right now so conditions are really going to be day-to-day. Pine Knob the other night was borderline "bad" but I heard it was awesome last night and Alpine Valley today was pretty good & soft slushy.

Pando is pretty limited, all rope tows and park-oriented if I'm not mistaken. If that's what you're looking for, good, but if not, you should probably do Bittersweet.

Awesome! It was quite a shock, driving from the UP to GR, and seeing that the lower peninsula has much more snow than most of the UP that I drove through. I had half a notion to stop at any of the ski areas along the I-75 corridor (I know I can pass Nub's Nob, Boyne, and Caberfae if I take the right exit off of 75), but realized I'd probably just piddle around the bunny hill at any of those spots. I do plan on hitting up some sled hills in the near future to master the basics, a'la Snowolf or Snow Professor's videos. Apparently I've been teaching myself wrong thus far :(
