Alright everyone since Summer is over, fall has just begun and we've already had our first rail jam of the year, it's time to start a new thread for the 10/11 winter.

Last year we had the "Southeast" michigan thread, but I think we should do all of Michigan. Sure, most of population lives in S/E michigan but we all ride the same resorts in the LP and even the UP if we get a chance, so we should have one thread to bring everyone together.

Cheers everyone we're probably only like 70 days from open resorts!

We got stickied. hot.

Anyways, I'd be down with a group meetup for some wings and UFC if the date matched up good with the days I don't have my daughter. My girlfriend is a member on here too, I'm sure she'd be down if chicks were welcome.

That snowdump looks awesome. I envy the bastards that live up there.

Hey, am I like the oldest guy in the Michigan thread by the way? I'm 34 now. Late ass start in life but dammit, I'm gonna make the most of it.

I freaking can't wait to keep improving next season.

I just noticed that we got stickied. Funny, I had been meaning to send a PM to one of the mods and ask if we could get an official Michigan regional thread for next year. Our thread is as active (or more active) than almost every other regional chat thread so I think it is well-deserved.

There is still snow up north, Crystal Mountain has $25 lift tickets through the rest of the season, Caberfae is open weekends only, Boyne is still blowing snow as of yesterday... get out & get some more if you get a chance!

wow thats sikk on the sticky news! glad to represent michigan! okay so doesn't this count as a major winter event? this weathers insane. its snowing like hell here at work right now. i probably have 6 inches at my place. im waiting for holly to open back up for the wknd! yea i know it won't happen but i'd be there in a minute if they did. its so cold out too. can't wait to get back up north! Boyne Highlands is having their Spring Board Meeting April 9-10. looks sikk.

I'm 30 :)

Snow up north this weekend was really good; hardpack groomers but bluebird skies and great weather made for some fun riding. There is really no rain in the forecast this week and they might get some light snow later in the week so anyone planning to head up north this weekend for closing weekend should have superb conditions. Honestly it was like January conditions both days.

I just heard about that spring board meeting at Boyne but I doubt I'll be able to make it up there, I will be returning from Utah on Friday so chances that the wife would allow me to go up to Boyne after I've been gone for a week is about 0%

I finally got around to mashing up a silly little video this weekend, it's the first I've ever done. It's nothing like what you guys do but it's our first year on the hill and we're having fun.

The cool thing about making this is that it gave me ideas on what I want to do next season.

Anyways, I ain't posting it on the main page, just sharing with you guys;

parks were winding down there were a few small jumps 10' and 15' ish and a few smaller ones that I didn't hit. A down rail & flat box & funbox (this was kind of sketchy) in the same run as the jumps. Their other park area also had been trimmed, there was a kicker with a barrel jib or whatever, a snow spine/hip, and about a 20' flat double-barrel rail and a c-box. That's about it but still some features available and some log jibs to be found in the woods.

if you get a chance, make the long drive up to Tahquamenon Falls area in the UP. Various trails to hike for all abilities but bring your mosquito spray for sure. Lodging options aren't many but there is a Best Western or Holiday Inn or something not too far away from the park. Makes for a nice weekend trip there's some odd stuff to do & spend some time in the park up there hiking or whatever.

leo: hah, yea i have plenty of spring hobbies but after the spring riding i had experienced last year, im determined to get another session on one of those warm, sunny days! im looking at the wknd of april 15-16. i'm sure someone will be open still. if not i'll put the stick away for the year! the slopes still have plenty of snow. i'm sure at this point, it's whether they're selling enough lift tix to justify keeping the hills open.

Boyne Highlands is closed. Nubs is officially closing this Sunday 4/10. Crystal Mountain closed last Sunday; although The North Face back side will hold rideable snow for a few more weeks, unfortunately there is no parking nearby but it could potentially be poached if you wanted to hike a little bit.

Boyne Mountain is "open daily through 4/10" but... I heard rumors a few weeks ago that because of all the snow this year they might re-open on weekends-only later in the month. There is some ski/golf combination outing on 4/16 but I am not sure if the hill will be open to the public or if it is just for people who sign up for the event.

Summit Sports carries them too. Word on the street is, their warehouse just received the 2011 line of NS longboards. Stores will get them in soon. They still have some 2010 models in there as well.

A note to you guys. Summit Sports sells them with stock parts. They don't switch out the trucks and wheels to make the board cheaper so you might find them cheaper elsewhere due to that fact.
