Alright everyone since Summer is over, fall has just begun and we've already had our first rail jam of the year, it's time to start a new thread for the 10/11 winter.

Last year we had the "Southeast" michigan thread, but I think we should do all of Michigan. Sure, most of population lives in S/E michigan but we all ride the same resorts in the LP and even the UP if we get a chance, so we should have one thread to bring everyone together.

Cheers everyone we're probably only like 70 days from open resorts!

From what I can tell from the snow on my rental car, the Harbor Springs area definitely got the 12 to 15 inches they predicted!!! :D :D Today should be AWSOME!!! :D

it was absolute carnage this morning at Crystal Mountain. Power went out at our condo last night around bed time. SOmetime during the night the whole resort lost power and when we woke up this morning they did not know if/when the power would return. There were trees down everywhere and several cars destroyed/impaled by fallen trees. I think a lot of people left because they were without power.

Lifts finally started spinning around 1015am, but we got hit with a health dose of "Sierra Cement" it's deep, but it's heavy as shit:

sounds like you guys all had a sick wknd! timed that out nicely with the snowstorm. so now we can start the predictions of when mt holly and pk will close. lots of 40s and 50s in the 15 day forecast. i think as long as we don't get a lot of rain we still may have 2 full weeks left. at least thats what i'm hoping! spring riding conditions!!!

Brighton is closed all week hoping to re-open for the weekend. I think we will see this at PK/MTH, too. Even when they have good snow years, these hills usually close due to lack of turnout, not due to lack of snow. If they are open beyond this weekend, I think it will only be due to St. Patrick's Day happening on the following Saturday.

On a positive note, that foot of snow that dropped all over NW Michigan was good base-building snow that will allow all these places to stay open through their scheduled closing dates in early April, I won't be able to take advantage of it but hopefully some of you guys can.

I'm thinking about day-tripping to Cannonsburg on Saturday. If PK is open I might ride there Thursday night but probably shouldn't...

nice vid! where were u at Crystal? it didn't look like either of the terrain parks that i'm familiar with.

i went to PK last night. the pinery park was pretty much garbage. the one box they have at the bottom is cocked to the right (snow must be melting underneath of it) and it wants to throw u off mid-box. i can only imagine it will be getting worse this week and they prolly won't bother fixing it. timberline was legit tho. they've even added a few new features...barrel bonk, street rail and a couple new boxes. wasn't my best night out but i did lock on to that shot gun rail at top. what are your plans? u still goin to c-burg this wknd?

That was the park that is right below the Clipper high speed quad chair. They also had a small jump line set up from the 2-seater chair with 10- and 15-foot tables that was pretty fun. I didn't hit any of those until yesterday morning, wish I would've spent more time on that line.

Still doing something this weekend, I've got more boards to review so I need to get out at least one more time. Cannonsburg might be the spot. Most likely Saturday.

Hit the day shesh at PK today. Started off great, then about 2pm, the snow turn to slush. Made for a good day of butters and carves, but the park was just to slow. No speed to clear any kickers or to get up on boxes.

At that rate, it'd be amazing to see them last a week unless it gets cold.

yeah it is defo too warm today at 60F. They would be wise to close for the rest of the week, preserve what little base they hae left. This weekend it is only daytime highs in the low 40s and overnight lows a touch below freezing. That would make for two tolerable days. If they're lucky I'd say repeat that and shoot for one more weekend 3/17 & 3/18. The can do it, but it just depends if enough people are willing to show up & ski/ride.

Ahhh yeah dude we're toast. Cannonsburg on Saturday. Next week is all in 50s/60s there is no way any of these hills make it past Sunday.

I wish they might so that I could ride C-burg this week and maybe one more day at Holly/PK next week, but it just ain't in the cards this year.

Friday actually looks like march, high of only 36, low of 20. But if I want to go to the Burg on Saturday I don't think I can ride Friday. I could ride Friday, but then I probably couldn't ride on Saturday. Not sure which is a better choice... Cannonsburg looks OK as long as we get there first thing in the morning like 9 or 930am.

I think my last day last season was around March 12th'ish so I guess it could have been worse with this dreadful winter.

I'm looking at this weekend at Boyne and we'll see what happens the following Friday. That is most likely my last chance of the season.

So I posted my victories in the past so why not post my failures.

Me eating a knuckle sandwich. I suppose the video is 40 seconds too long, sorry. At the 38 sec mark I don't hit that feature because I'm trying to get speed to hit the jump but man that gap was long and I never did clear it.

I don't know what the bigger fail in this next video is, my glade riding or the way I formatted the video. Good lord. Anyways, this was my first attempt. I was sooooo tired when I finally got out of the woods. I felt all 250 pounds at the end of this. Next season when I do this again I'll be around 220. I gotta..
