Not sure where you are from Zole but I live in Milwaukee and work in Waukesha so Alpine is south of me and pretty much equidistant from the two and it snowed an inch or two in Waukesha but was raining pretty much 5-10 minutes east of Waukesha all the way into Milwaukee, not sure if Elkhorn got any of the snow or not, I know the more southeast you got in the state the more rain you got so they may have gotten little to no snow and more rain just like the city.

Pure speculation obviously on my part as I wasn't watching the radar or at Alpine but if I had to guess I would say conditions aren't phenomenal and it doesn't look as if there will be any improvement in the near future.

I was thinking of trying to swing by after work tomorrow but think I'm going to pass for now.

GP should be at least 50% open by Christmas. Be sure and check out the new quad high speed, Dasher, in the Western corner. It's only open from 9-4 this season, but it's something new for this season. Lights are planned over there for next year.

Gotcha, like I said I could be way off and they may have gotten more of the snow than the mix. They open at 2pm last I heard and lift tix were only $25 so it's not like you are having to pay full price either.

Looks like temps may drop tomorrow in the morning so they can put the guns on too before opening. I'm sure someone else may have better connections than I do though to give you more info.

I might get out after work tonight. If I do I'll post conditions I will be there Saturday for sure. If any members want look me up at the hill. I'm the only dad riding a banana w/Flows.

I never made it tonight, sold my kids board on CL had to meet the buyer, transmission fluid in car needed changing badly, and got the snowblower fired up to handle this storm. Now I'm free of projects and can ride this snow from the storm !!!!

Zolemite way better conditions than when I was there last Tuesday !!!!

I'll be there Saturday and maybe Friday but that is a big if for Friday, my kids with be there Friday though

Pretty sure I can't make Sunday we have church service.
My kids went last night. Some small "rider made" jumps said they were fun to just pop off and mess around on. Conditions were pretty good, very windy and cold though.
I have to work this morning, so hoping to get out late afternoon. That should happen, I'll post condition report later.

Alpine was pretty nice tonight. The snow was kinda slow, but you could tell there was some natural snow as well. I had a blast riding with a few old friends. Pretty much all the runs were open and they were blowing like crazy in the runs that weren't open. I'd say by next weekend all runs will be open.

Im jealous !!!! I still haven't made it. Had to get ready for family and had Christmas service last night. I have Wed off so I"ll be there around lunch and probably Thur & Fri night including the weekend.
Great just in time to ride with the holiday crowds....oh well better than not riding.

Let me know if you head out over the holiday, maybe we can take a few chairs.
They should be making snow still, they really need to cover that block of ice under all the fresh/manmade snow.

Just for an update. I just got back from Alpine and conditions were great. Hard pack groomers as usual, the crowds were 'zero' got tons of laps in.
The park was very good. The jump line has 3 15' kickers, just after the line is a log spine then a tractor wheel bonk.
On one of the other runs a 15' table top, 10' gap jump, ride on flat 20' rail, a short ride on (low to ground) rail, then a double feature cannon rail or hit a down rail.
There was another run to the east with features but I never made it over there to ride.

If you are considering riding this week or weekend I would recommend it !!! The new park manager has totally stepped up the park this year and is continually trying to keep it fresh and so far they have.

I was there all day today 10-close. Conditions were pretty good. Very minimal ice patches. The park has no new features which is depressing. Zero boxes, there are 2 20 foot rails and one is a bit sketchy around the sides so if you come off the rail to a side it could be ugly.
The jump line is still fun but a bit rutted up and the landings are icey. So if you doing spins make sure you have them on lock. One run has a bunch of small rollers and they aren't much fun.
Minimal crowds even on this holiday weekend so that is good.
All-in-all still worth riding there. Make the best of it and enjoy. I might be there tomorrow morning for a few hours. I'm pretty spent from today so we'll see.

Went here on Sunday the 6th. Temps were around 28 degrees and the sun was out for most of the morning and afternoon which made riding really nice. Didn't see many ice patches, so that was a plus. There was actually a good amount of people there. Just as packed as it was on new years eve of last season.

Overall, the riding was good there. This was my first time out this season and 2nd time overall. Finally got my toe side turns down, which made riding a lot more now that I can actually turn both ways. Can't wait till I get back out on the snow. Not sure if I will be going here on my next session. Might hit up Wilmot and check it out. :dunno:

Haha. Thanks for the heads up! I know it's not as big as Alpine, but it's a lot closer to Chicago. I'm sure if I go on a weekday it can't be that bad. Either way I'll be happy as long as I'm on some snow.
