2013 Season @ Alpine Valley starts Monday
 

I just talked with management at Alpine Valley in East Troy WI and they will be opening on Monday. Not all runs but riding is riding

2pm - 10pm runs open are Broadway, Lodge, EZ-does-it and Timber will all be open.

Looks like there are going to be a bunch opening up this week. Chestnut had their guns running non stop since friday morning. Sundown announced that they are opening on the 30th.

Planning on heading up there tomorrow. Any update on conditions other than hill website?

Not sure where you are from Zole but I live in Milwaukee and work in Waukesha so Alpine is south of me and pretty much equidistant from the two and it snowed an inch or two in Waukesha but was raining pretty much 5-10 minutes east of Waukesha all the way into Milwaukee, not sure if Elkhorn got any of the snow or not, I know the more southeast you got in the state the more rain you got so they may have gotten little to no snow and more rain just like the city.

Pure speculation obviously on my part as I wasn't watching the radar or at Alpine but if I had to guess I would say conditions aren't phenomenal and it doesn't look as if there will be any improvement in the near future.

I was thinking of trying to swing by after work tomorrow but think I'm going to pass for now.

I live in Mchenry, IL. I just really want to get a day in before I go up to Granite Peak after Christmas. So if its open I'm planning on going in the afternoon. After tomorrow I work everyday till Christmas Eve :(

Gotcha, like I said I could be way off and they may have gotten more of the snow than the mix. They open at 2pm last I heard and lift tix were only $25 so it's not like you are having to pay full price either.

Looks like temps may drop tomorrow in the morning so they can put the guns on too before opening. I'm sure someone else may have better connections than I do though to give you more info.

GP should be at least 50% open by Christmas. Be sure and check out the new quad high speed, Dasher, in the Western corner. It's only open from 9-4 this season, but it's something new for this season. Lights are planned over there for next year.

I might get out after work tonight. If I do I'll post conditions I will be there Saturday for sure. If any members want look me up at the hill. I'm the only dad riding a banana w/Flows.

I'm up here now. The snow is like wet hard pack. Kinda icy in areas, not too bad though. It's worth the $25
