18+ runs open.

Snowmaking in the West right now. This weather is excellent for our snowcanes which pump out a shit ton of snow. I wouldn't be surprised if we had more runs open then currently shown tonight, Saturday, or Sunday.

Plenty of rails, jibs, jumps, and features to keep you busy for a weekend on Sugar Maple and Aspen. Local favorites so far seem to be the flat/down/kink/flat/down rail and the flat/down/flat/down/flat/down rail.

Comet (6 pack highspeed) is open. Blitzen (3 person lift) is running to the top of the hill as well.

Groomed and hardpacked as fuck. Temps are brutal, but on the plus side there will be no lift lines

I'm working Friday and Saturday night (3-CL). If you have any questions just ask one the lifties for supervisor Mike.

I'd love to come up Sunday, but don't have anyone to ride up with.

Got up Saturday morning and it was -10 in Wausau.......

My primary reason for being in town wasn't to snowboard (so I didn't have a ton of time) but I figured what the heck, a bad day on the hill is better than a good day doing other stuff. That turned out to be not so true. I started out on Birch Run, then Exhibition, and finished on Sundance. By the end of the third run my face was almost frozen and I bailed. As Derp mentioned it's hard packed and icy as hell. On the plus side, the new T.Rice performed well and the Magnetraction was put to good use.

I look forward to returning when conditions are better. For those in the Milwaukee area it's well worth the trip.

Alpine's snow was in great shape today. I didn't make it into the park as I was riding with my daughter and she's a newbie. Still conditions were great!

PalmerFreak getting an outing to GP for end of Jan if your interested.

All major chairlifts will be running. Cupid, Blitzen, Comet, and Dasher.

Dasher and the far West runs close at 4. Best place to ride in the mornings.

Rest of the hill stays open until 9pm.

I'd estimate 90% of the runs will be groomed and ready to ride.

3 terrain parks will be available, possibly 4.

Glades are rather sketch and at your own risk. Just can't get snow guns/sticks in there to cover them properly.

Thanks for the info Derp. Looks like it's gonna be cloudy this weekend. I'll probably still try to make it out.

Can you update us on conditions? Me and my girl are coming up a week from Sat. for a weekend session. Neither one of us do much park riding so we will be checking out the entire park. I plan to follow your game plan above as much as possible.

Any beginner parks with ride on features or small jumps for noobs? Both of us would like to practice on a few of those throughout the day.

Me and my kids were there a little over a month ago. They had a real fun beginner park. If it's still up, I'm sure it is, you'll have a blast in there.
Take some of the tree runs as well !! They are a blast to ride in.
Derp will give you an accurate and good game plan to follow.

seconded! my first tree runs, and they were a blast, and the beginner park has a jump line with 4 or 5 10 footers in a row. Great, low consequence learning.
