since I used to DJ and Rhyme I have a pretty diverse hip hop playlist in general. In terms of getting myself amped up for boarding though 4 songs come to mind Mobb Deep-Shook One's Pt.II, Big L Way of Life, O.C.-Times Up and Biggie-Who Shot Ya
Once i'm in the groove I can rock to just about anything but I'm a big fan of the lyricism so OG Nas, Jay and Big rock on top , then you get the Organized Konfusion or just straigh Pharaoe Monch, J5, Jedi Mind Tricks---Vinny Paz is one of the nastiest emcees ever to touch a mic, Chino XL, OG Canibus, OG Em, OG Com, Juice (most slept on rapper ever), Kool G Rap, Rakim, Talib Kweli, MosDef, Punch & Words, Cunninglinguists, I mean I can go on forever
Oh and if you're looking for a Dead Prez track to pump you up heavy check out Hip-Hop that is by far the best track they ever made... the bass line is retarded and if you have a car or house system with some serious bass you will break things to it. Immortal Technique is nice but he's trying to hard, check out Papoose, Saigon, Graf another cat to check for is Pack FM I can continue to give suggestions if yall want! Oh and CD recomendations for those that are not 100% into hiphop that want their eyes opened... pick up Hi-Tek---HiTeknology 2, The Chip, and I just got this one last night and it's absolutely amazing Statik Selektah-Spell My Name Right you will not be disappointed

Speaking of Hip-Hop Passenger (not the rock band with the same name) just came out with his "Debut" Album Brick in a Glass House its decently good IMO, not a lot of songs that I would board to, but still good in the way of lyricism.

The 90's hiphop is really where it's at in terms of getting pumped for boarding imo...the beats are just super hard and it's almost all music that will get you ready for battle!

wow, it's good to see yall have some awesome taste in music.
Mobb Deep-Shook One's Pt.II for instance is one of my favorite flows.
I went to the rage against the machines concert in alpine valley the past summer (they still got it by the way) and i've seen swollen members as well as some of those other artists such as Roots, J5, pharoah, etc... Sage and Slug come to Chicago alot as well too. I guess that's one plus side to livin here although the slopes kinda suck.
Anyways, i heard someone mention Deltron and whatever. You guys should look into handsome boy modeling school if you like dan the automator's stuff. As for DJ's, look up Prefuse 73 (very technical and mathematical in scratches), amon tobin (haunting stuff), shadow (good ole organ donor), and blockhead (Aesop's DJ).

I have quite a few of the songs mentioned above, but for some reason Rollin (Urban Assault) by Limp Bizkit makes me want to carve the most.

Whoa... well more hip hop fans in here than I expected... I've been heavy into it since about '90, so I have a 'few' albums, lol (it won't all fit onto my iPod )
The Roots are my absolute favorite group, but often are too laid back for riding, so I've been listening to a lotta alternative on the slopes... on the drive up is where i bring the hip hop, haha...
I hate commercial rap that's post 2000, so its mostly underground stuff now; Jay Dee (J Dilla), Slum Village, Madlib (BEST high music, ever), MF Doom, 7L & Esoteric, Akrobatik, Aesop Rock, El-P and a few others. Its all about mid 90's hip hop though, my CD collection is FULL of timeless classics; BDP, Public Enemy, J5, all the old Boot Camp LP's, Common, Wu-Tang and related albums, De La Soul... I have waay too much to list, lol...
If you're looking for some REALLY good boarding music, get into the mixtape scene... even the most commercial artists take it back to that classic feel; raw lyrics over amazing beats. 50 Cent (HATE his commercial stuff, but his old mixtapes are amazing), Kanye, Lil' Wayne, Busta Rhymes.
I just got this mixtape called Dillagence; Busta Rhymes over Dilla's beats... my jaw is still dropped from the preview last night :P
