Cool Snowboard Influenced Music Variety!

The other day I was watching a "Snow Porn" clip that had been posted here in another thread, and as often happened with a lot of these clips? I found myself searching online for the unusual song that was featured in the soundtrack of the video!

Since I always have music playing when I ride? I couldn't help but think about all the different bands and songs I have discovered or been introduced to since I started snowboarding! Many of these tunes are from music genre's I wouldn't otherwise listen to.

So,.. Between the unusual and often offbeat variety of music found in the soundtracks of the many snowboarding videos and edits I've watched? As well as some interesting stuff I've picked up from the selections posted by people in this forum?

...Today I have some really awesome and interesting additions to my shred songs and powder playlists! Music ranging in taste from Country to Punk & Pop! Speed metal and obscure R&B, to Soul and Psychedelic! Music I probably never would have found or been exposed to if I hadn't started snowboarding!

Here's a partial list of songs that one way or another, snowboarding has contributed to my music library;

BANDS NAME
SONG TITLE(s)

The Heavy
No Time

That Kind Of Man
(different version than I have in iTunes, but I like it!)

Steve Earle
The Revolution Starts Now

Goldfrapp
Ooh La La

The Black Angels
Black Grease (video) / Manipulation

Beck
Timebomb / E-Pro

Wax
Rosana

The Blackwater Fever
Better Off dead

Los Campesinos
You, Me, Dancing

Jimmy Castor Bunch
Troglodyte (Cave Man)

Dropkick Murphy’s
Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced / The Season's Upon Us

Yamantaka
One
(…this song is featured in this video!)

Jape
Floating(video soundtrack)

Cage the Elephant
Ain't no rest for the wicked(video) / In One Ear

The Ting Tings
That's Not My Name

( ...thanks for this embarrassingly "catchy" ditty Neni!)

Buckcherry
Crazy Bitch

Ty Stone
Line Of Blood

Ghostland Observatory
Glitter

What's with all the improperly used question marks chomps?

(Notice that I used one correctly.)

Thanks Chomps - more tunes to add to my riding library. I hadn't heard the Troglodyte song in about 100 years.

Actually, you could have used a question mark there.
LOL!

If it makes you feel better, after reading your post, I watched the Ting Tings song on video and have wasted the last hour bouncing from one music video to another as a result.

Easy enough to do!
I love stumbling across some song from waaay back when that I completely forgot about! Or discovering something new I really like!

Another thing about my snowboarding playlists,..? I have sort of an eclectic, odd, even weird mix of songs in my favorites that maybe most people wouldn't necessarily think of as "Shred Worthy" at first! But, they work for me!

Here's another list that includes some of those tunes;

BANDS NAME
Song(s) Title

John Lee Hooker
Boom, Boom, Boom!

(Early)Pink Floyd
Free Four (video)
Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun

The Temptations
Ball of Confusion

Psychedelic Shack

Sly and The Family Stone
I Want To Take You Higher (video)
Dance To The Music

Sheryl Crow
Steve McQueen

Time Has Come Today (with Steve Earle)

The Tragically Hip
New Orleans is Sinking

Blow at High Dough

Rare Earth
I Just Want To Celebrate

War
Lowrider

Cisco Kid

Harry Nilsson
Put The Lime In The Coconut

Blue Öyster Cult
Cities On Flame With Rock and Roll (video)
Godzilla (...naturally!)

Procol Harum
Whiskey Train

(…That's the song Christopher Walken really needed if he wanted more "Cowbell" on SNL!!)

Gypsy Kings
Desperado Theme El Mariachi

Todd Rundgren
Bang On The Drum All Day

Tracy Byrd
The Truth About Men

hihi, I love this song . I usually don't listen to such girly stuff (tho... there'll be another girly track on the AK vid ), but this one? I find myself bouncing on the seat n smile whenever it pops up from the playlist in the car. It's so silly that it's getting good

Thanks for your effort collecting these songs. I'll go through them at home, maybe there's another great new find among them - a lot of new songs/interprets went to my playlist after I found them on SBF - my favourite discoveries were Quantic (e.g. Time is your enemy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvUeo5sagkA), and Gramatik (e.g. Muy Tranquilo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUnMOG8xKsg).

Damn you put in some work.

I don't listen to music while I ride anymore. I listen to the snow and my surroundings and often just enjoy the peacefulness of hearing nothing. BUT I do crank my favorite tunes on the way to the hill and in the parking lot having a beer getting stoked to ride.

Thanks for music!
