Girl Talk is the #1 most over rated "artist" in Electronic music.
He takes quality old school songs and mashes them with extremely under produced beats that sound like an 8 year old made them while waiting for his next flight at an airport. I have absolutely no respect for him. If you want a real mashup artist Z-Trip is as good as it gets. His sound is way more mature, and none of his tracks sound flat and under produced. |

LOL, I don't think anyone here mentioned 1 single techno dj/producer(haha at Justice playing techno). Just b/c it goes boom boom boom doesn't mean it's techno. Anyways don't bother with techno unless you like the slow boring minimal bullshit that's been going on for the past 5 yrs.
As others said, Dubstep is probably the fastest growing edm genre around now. DnB never gets old either... As far as DnB... check out DirtyPhonics which is one of the hottest groups out now although they jumped slightly off the standard DNB and are headed more towards electro/dub. Other hot new DnB producers/artist Camo & Krooked J Majik & Wickaman Mutated Forms SubFocus(one of biggest pioneers in the last decade) High Contrast Blokhe4d Spor Nosia Chris.Su Klute DirtyPhonics live(and by live I do mean LIVE PA) 2 yrs ago...finally an MC that doesn't talk his head off. Dubstep is where it's at. I'd recommend "When I Look At You" by "Emalkay" and "Room 237" by "Pixel Fist"
If you want just techno you can't go wrong with Deadmau5, listen to "Hey Baby" I think some of the lyrics include something about snow ; ) If you want something more mellow check out "Don't Stop" by "ATB" |
