Why is it that you guys don't recognize that Eminem was actually a great battle rapper back in the days? He won multiple events and placed 2nd in the rap olympics in the 90's. He gets plenty of props from great rappers. I remember when people used to say Royce hated on Em... look at them now. Royce said he's the best rapper alive.

I won't go as far to say he's the best of all time, but he is certainly the best one living. Yea, his new songs sound very mainstream, but his lyrics are still there. I don't know how many times I have to try and hammer that fact in. A lot of current haters don't even bother to listen to all of his lyrics in this new album. Plus Em himself hates on relapse. You can't count that album. Also realize that Eminem has had a lot of beef in this industry and he destroyed all of them including Canibus.

Funny how as soon as a rapper hits the mainstream, he gets mad hated on. Even when a lot of underground artists respect him. I will bet good money that most of the "real hip hop" MCs that you guys listed like Eminem. Don't critique an artist just because they are super popular and make more money than you can ever imagine especially if you didn't even take the time to listen to the content of their lyrics. Hip hop is different from other types of music. The lyrics are what matters most. Beats are secondary. Collabs are last.

And in all honesty, all "underground rapper" means is a rapper who hasn't made it. Show me an artist that would turn down millions in order to stay underground. I'm sure there are some out there, but it's probably really rare.

Post up some lyrics of these "better rappers" and I'll gladly match those lyrics with one of Eminem's. That way you can see the skills for what they are without all that excess crap like Rihanna.

By the way... That MTV Whiteboy rapper excuse does not work. America didn't exactly get a good impression of White rappers. Other than Beastie Boys that is. You guys want to hate on a mainstream rapper? Hate on Little Wayne. I won't argue that one. His lyrics are terrible.

NAS IS THE TRUTH... DOES NOT NEED TOP DOLLAR PROD. (DRE) DOES NOT NEED TOP DOLLAR MARKETING (CALL OR DUTY COMMERCIALS/ SPORTING EVENT INTROS) DOES NOT NEED MERCHANDISING (TSHIRTS AND POSTERS)

EM IS LADY GAGA OF HIP HOP

[Intro (Nas):]
Yo, I wonder if Langston Hughes and Alex Haley
got blazed before they told stories
I'm get blazed before I tell y'all stories
I saw on TV today, this man lost his son, his son died
So he had him cremated, took his ashes, and then made it to a Diamond ring
Now he watches his son shine everyday
I just thought about that, while I sit here ashing in this ash tray, yeah

[Verse 1 (Nas):]
The makin' of a mad band
Intricate stories of DeVante Swing
Ava Gardner, the crashin' of James Dean
Bobby Brown influenced by Rick James and it goes..
Prince wanted Alexander O'Neal to be Morris Day or Jerome
But Alex was puttin' coke in his nose, nigga whylin'
Could be a myth but I swear that the source was close, Phyllis Hyman
Killed herself, it was crazy, mommy was bad they say
Donny Hathaway free fall from a balcony, he swings

[Hook (Nas):]
As the blunt ash falls into the ash tray
I could see my whole life fly past me
Did I... did I keep it gangsta or keep it classy?
And will the money and fame out last me?
The blunt's ash falls down in the ash tray
Will I see my whole life fly past me?
I'm askin' did I keep it gangsta or keep it classy?
Did I?.. Anything else you wanna know, just wanna ask me?

[Verse 2 (Nas):]
Sam trusted Womack with his main lady
He tossin' in the grave, like, "This is how you repay me?"
A change gon' come, wish you didn't trust me so much
Marvin said "No mountain's high enough, fly stuff"
David Ruffin was punchin' Tammy Terrell, gave her concussions
While the Funk Brothers was layin' down the percussion
When Flo from the Supremes died, Diana Ross cried
Many people said that she was laughin' inside

[Hook (Nas)]

[Verse 3 (Nas):]
John F. Kennedy's, enemies dealt with treachery
It interests me, Judy Campbell in Gucci sandals
She's what a temptress be
The death of Ennis Cosby, what a mystery
Or the Chicagoan Harold Washington
Someone is sabotaging them
Watch out for the traps
Larry Troutman killed his brother Roger Troutman
Then he killed himself, that's the end of Zapp
And I wouldn't change a thing, mistakes of the greats
This is what came from their pain
From their hurt we gain, an unfair exchange

[Hook (Nas)]

[Outro (Nas, over the hook):]
I could smell old bogey cigars
Long record perfumes, smellin' just as sweet, ha-ha
Me and my wife K, flyin' in a drop-top like Ruby and Ottis Davis baby
Knaw'mean? Yo, man. I get smoked out, and start thinkin' about
Hattie McDaniel's got a Oscar, for playin' Mammy in 'Gone With The Wind'
And she didn't get allowed, wasn't even allowed to go to the premier
Could you believe that? Couldn't go to premier to her joint
Tssk. Man, you know they were strong back then man
Blunt from my ash tray, nothin' gon' to live past me, yeah, yeah, yeah

Whoa, you posted the whole song lol. Gonna make these posts extra long. I'll post some lyrics up later. Gotta clock out of work now.

No doubt that NAS is a beast. I love his tracks. For the record, I believe he destroyed Jay-Z.

I'm going to retract my statement that Em is the best alive. I believe he's one of the best alive. I truly can't say any one artist is the best. The styles are so different. They are each great at what they do.

By the way, no need for the name calling. Dre makes fucking sick beats. Don't hate on them just because they want to make money. Also, NAS has partnered with Fila for a shoe line. It's all money and no one is immune to it when the opportunity presents itself. They call that a "hustle".

Default Rodeo Song

This beat is simply the best one to help me finish my trick. For example, I've landed rodeo only twice: both times I was listening to this one:
La vida no vale nada: OAKOAK Blog Archive TOTALLY EXTINCT SIZZLING SHIT

I have since retracted that statement. I don't think any MC is the best alive or the best of all time. They are all different. Besides, it's purely subjective anyway. You can label someone the "highest selling rapper of all time" or "the most popular rapper of all time" though.

BTW Muki, Hip Hop will always be debated. It's fun to discuss artists and lyrics.

I like this song a lot.

(Chorus)
Too late for the other side,
Caught in a chase
25 to life
Too late for the other side,
Caught in a chase
25 to life
Too late
(Yeah, I can't keep chasing you,
I'm taking my life back)
Caught in a chase
25 to life

(Verse 1)
I don't think she understands
The sacrifices that I've made
Maybe if this bitch had acted right,
I would have stayed
But I've already wasted over half my life,
I would have laid down and died for you
I'll no longer cry for you
No more pain
Bitch you, took me for granted
Took my heart and ran it straight into the planet
Into the dirt
I can no longer stand it
Now my respect I demand it
I'ma take control of this relationship,
Command it
And I'ma be the boss of you now goddammit
And what I mean is that I will no longer let you control me
So you better hear me out,
This much you owe me
I gave up my life for you,
Totally devoted to you,
I have stayed faithful all the way,
This is how I fuckin' get repaid?
Look at how I dress,
Fuckin' baggy sweats
Go to work a mess
Always in a rush to get back to you
I ain't heard you yet
Not even once say you appreciate me
I deserve respect
I've done my best to give you nothin' less than perfectness
And I know that if I end this,
I'll no longer have nothing left
But you keep treatin' me like a staircase
It's time to fuckin' step
And I won't be comin' back,
So don't hold your fuckin' breath
You know what you've done,
No need to go in-depth
I told you'd be sorry if I fuckin' left
I'd laugh while you wept
How's it feel now?
Yeah, funny ain't it?
You neglected me
Did me a favor though
My spirit free you've set
But a special place for you in my heart I have kept
It's unfortunate but it's...

(Chorus)

(Verse 2)
I feel like when I bend over backwards for you,
All you do is laugh
'Cause that ain't good enough
You expect me to fold myself in half 'til I snap
Don't think I'm loyal?
All I do is rap
How can I moonlight on the side?
I have no life outside of that
Don't I give you enough of my time?
You don't think so, do you?
Jealous when I spend time with the girls
Why I'm married to you still, man, I don't know
But tonight I'm servin' you with papers
I'm divorcin' you,
Go marry someone else and make 'em famous
And take away their freedom like you did to me
Treat 'em like you don't need 'em
And they ain't worthy of you
Feed 'em the same shit that you made me eat
I'm movin' on, forget you
Oh, now I'm special?
I ain't feel special when I was with you
All I ever felt was dissed, helplessness
Imprisoned by a selfish bitch
Chew me up and spit me out
I fell for this so many times,
It's ridiculous
And still I stick with this
I'm sick of this,
But in my sickness and addiction,
You're addictive as they get
Evil as they come,
Vindictive as they make 'em
My friends keep askin' me why I can't just walk away from 'em
I'm addicted, to the pain, the stress, the drama I'm drawn to
Shit, I guess I'm a mess, cursed and blessed
But this time I ain't changin' my mind
I'm climbin' out this abyss
You're screamin' as I walk out that I'll be missed
But when you spoke of people who meant the most to you,
You left me off your list
Fuck you, hip-hop
I'm leavin' you
My life sentence is served, bitch
And it's just..

(Chorus)
