rakim - guess whos back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nXdbB_tvNk i'm listening to that right now and picturing it as the music to my part in my professional vid debut ![]() ok it's not really like what you posted but it's an awesome old-school hip-hop track. i could go on for days about hip-hop but if you like atmosphere you will probably like felt (hip-hop duo of slug from atmosphere and murs) i always say check out blue scholars and CYNE. awesome underground hip-hop. you might also be into sandpeople, people under the stairs, binary star or panacea. here are a few wicked tracks by aforementioned artists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbziavrLrds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nVzSr3yDcA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieM_qDKTZ28 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIRkv2VzDSI hilarious song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8PfdeO4dHE love this one too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ_RTN8OKZY Last edited by ryannorthcott; 02-09-2011 at 08:49 PM. |

Atmosphere could be considered indie rap. Look on the Rhymesayers website. They are the album company of Atmosphere and will lead to more music like Atmosphere. In my opinion, the best album in the past couple of years was Nineteen Ninety Now by Celph Titled and Buckwild. Not a bad song on the album. Some of my personal favorites are:
Brother Ali- Self taught Blue Scholars- No Rest for the Weary Kno- I wish i was dead, When i was young Sage Francis- Slow Down Ghandi Sandpeople- It's True Sound Providers- The Field A Tribe Called Quest- Scenario Remix 7l & Esoteric- Perfect Person People Under the Stairs- Acid Raindrops Talib Kweli- Get By CYNE- Pretty Apollo |

I don't care if you hate Eminem. This new track with Slaughterhouse and 2.0 boys w/ Yelawolf is fire.
Pay attention to Em's lyrics and see who's he's dissing ![]() Last edited by Leo; 03-17-2011 at 07:36 AM. |

Another Minneapolis hip hop label, much like Rhymesayers, is Doomtree.
Group of artists that all collaborate together. Ones I'd recommend are P.O.S, Sims and Cecil Otter. Sim's just released a new album. It's pretty sick, IMO. By Atmosphere I'd say get the albums "Lucy Ford" and "God Loves Ugly." If you can learn to love those 2, you'll love everything sluggo does.
