Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming

For torrents I would only recommend using ones with private trackers, these are invite only though.

depends what your definition of "good music" is. If you are into electronica (anything from downtempo, to dubstep, dnb, breakbeat, etc, etc) i would look into addictech.com or beatport.com

I personally like cdbaby.com for everything else. A very impressive world music collection, and jazz too. They also have some really good electronic stuff with tons of subgenres to explore.

In terms of torrent sites, I like torrentech.org for electronic music, but its an invite only. You can get an invite by asking for one in the chatroom after about 15 minutes though, its totally worth it. fantastic site, community there.

please support your favorite musicians by buying their music if you can, sometimes I feel like people wont even give something a chance unless they can get it for free which I find pathetic. I mean I get free music too, but I purchase at the very least an album a month, maybe more or less depending on the releases of that month, and if its worth my money or not. Most releases are not worth your money, but there some true gems that I think should be in everyones collection. let me know if you would like some albums/artists to check out, just let me know a little about what your looking for in music.

Bon Voyage

I'm a member on mercuryserver.com it's only a place for mostly tech house, progressive house, dark progressive, deep house, tribal, electronic and not likely a place for trance or techno, break beat stuff though sometimes peeps do upload them. you can download live mixes there.

if you think dj tiesto or deadmau5 is the best dj please don't register.

Lately I've been really into Trip-hop and Electronica since most of the stuff is really new and creative (rock in general has become really stale and Nickelback-ish). I've found some good artists and songs just by listening to Pandora radio; once you hear a good artist, just plug in their name it generates similar stuff.

Afterwards it's usually a Mediafire hunt, which works but probably isn't the best option.

The bastards at my University know their computer science, they've blocked all P2P torrent sharing, so nothing works except direct downloads. I prefer torrents but I don't have much of a choice since my home internet has a data cap.
