for something i bet none of you are jamming to i would recommend the tape 'Horsepower' by Eddie B, super chill, clever lyrics and great beats from Harry Fraud. Or you could just check out thedopesteez.com for all your hip hop needs (shameless plug over :P)

Bahamadia - featured on a few Jazzmatazz cuts, she just had 1 album and no fame, but shes as smooth as it comes:

Immortal Technique as mentioned, very smooth monotone style like Gangstarr; his message is pretty much full on though, hard to ignore, not mellow at all....

Mos Def/Talib Kweli/Blackstar

nobody mentioned Jurrassic 5 yet?

Grew up listening to triple 6 mafia, project pat, nas, mjg, eastside boys, twista, busta, and seeing as Atlanta is the black Hollywood and growing up downtown with these fucking hood rats, I'm done with that shit. I keep my metal mixed with some smooth flowing feel good music on shuffle. Not hating but most hip hop is nothing but a beat filled with meaningless words. Money, hoes and rims. No substance.
