Put your money where your youtube is people

Some 2006 business that ran the place for quite a while...

All these names floating around and no-one actually posting tunes. What, you search 'wiki reggae' or something?

Come on mr horn blower, you are quick to call people out, what about you huh?

Passafire
The Green
Girrafe Aftermath

I am so old school roots, I cannot handle most of the new stuff, but I must say the Konshens song was OK.

Ha, my reggae cred, I have seen tons of reggae bands over the years, all over the world. Reggae on the river; man, one I never did have the chance to go, but out west.... I forget the name of the festival up on Mt. Shasta, great show. Eek a Mouse etc...

I would embed some tunes, but Spotify is better than Youtube as I listen rather than watch.

Thumbs up

Love all kinds of reggae, primarily roots & dub with a splashing of dancehall. Few of my favs (I'm sure a few have been mentioned before):
Culture
Courtney Melody
Lone Ranger
Toots & The Maytals
Tosh
Bob
Damien & Stephen Marley
Yellowman
Ninja Man
Bounty Killer
Eek-a-Mouse
Beenie Man
Prince Jammy
Michigan & Smiley
Max Romeo
King Tubby
Lee Perry
Philip Smart
Mad Professor
Junior Murvin
Half Pint
Don Carlos
Tenor Saw
Buju Banton
Born Jamericans
Linton Kwesi Johnson
Barrington Levy
Groundation
John Brown's Body
10ft Ganja Plant
The Naturalites

Got into some of the Reggae/Rock groups from the last 15 years or so too:
Sublime
Slightly Stoopid
The Expendables
Rebelution
Filibuster
Dirty Heads
Badfish
Soldiers of Jah Army
Mishka

One of my favorite recent discoveries (for myself) is the Easy Star All-Stars. These guys do dub versions of famous albums like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon - Dub Side of the Moon and Dubber Side of the Moon; The Beatles' Sgt Peppers - Lonely Hearts Dub Band; Radiodread - a comp of Radiohead cuts. They usually have guest vocalists on most of the songs on these albums too. Awesome stuff

I also recommend getting on Spotify. Enter an artist in the search and you'll get most everything they've ever put out, and you can listen straight through albums without ads or having to hear other artists in-between. Also a radio function similar to pandora

Just when I was getting sick of tune selection on the Never Summer 'Shred Em All' previews, they drop this gem of a tune on section 3!

Tune is Romain Virgo - Live Me Life, on the Boops Riddim

I can';t believe that Toots and the Maytals has been mentioned only once here... True legends.
Toots & The Maytals - Pressure Drop (Ska version) 1998 - YouTube

If you're just getting into reggae, hit the legends: Bob, Toots, Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh... Then we can move on.
