What exactly have you been listening to lately? Older stuff like Buju Banton and Beenie Man or newer stuff like Vybz Kartel and Gyptian? Bob Marley is and forever will be my favorite so he's always the first to be recommended. Mr. Vegas, Lady Saw, Barrington Levy, Shabba Ranks, and Bounty Killer are also good. If you like ska "Check Your Time" by Westward Bound is a pretty good song. "Jerusalem" by Matisyahu is also a good song IMO. If you google "Reggae Gold" its like a WOW! That's What I Call Music kinda thing for reggae songs so you have a ton of songs to pick from there.

Or for a more uptempo Jamaican kinda thing > JugglinShow_29thOct_BASHY.mp3 I have years and years of reggae and dancehall tunes, but really mixes and radio shows are the way to listen to this stuff. There's a couple to get you going! |

Buju and Beenie man are both current artists.
Have a quick listen to the radio shows I posted, it'll give you a feel for the 'sound'. You'll get a warped perspective looking shit up on youtube. That won't give you an idea of 'whats good' at all. Seriously |
