I have an RCA Lyra mp3. Ive had it for years. It's held up real well for me. I use it all the time when I ride. It really doesnt have alot of memory. Basically can hold 150 songs or 1 dead concert but I can bet more memory.

I like the mp3 format. My sons have ipods but im not too convinced they hold up well in the cold. tge mp4 format is exclusive i believe to ipods. Quality is the same.

Get one. If u dont like it you only spent so much anyway. But my guess is you would find it to be just fine for what u want

I am really anti headphones when snowboarding. nothing good ever comes of it and if I have time to actually listen to the music, Im not doing something hard enough.

thats just my opinion, but when i used to an ipod was always the culprit...

I used my psp at Okemo like two weeks ago, it did the job fine, and I fell a bunch and didnt bust it up. just make sure you use the "hold" button and set the screen tot turn off after 30 seconds, my battery lasted more than 5 hours and I got tired of my playlist before it ran out.

Also if you havent yet, get down with modding that bitch. pspmod.com

mpd might be right about ipods holding up in cold, my battery dies practically instantly if my ipod isn't within 1 layer of my body. i would say an mp3 player is good to get for boarding because they're light. cheap ones basically work the same as expensive ones they just don't have as much memory... it's not like you're gonna listen to a week's worth of music without stopping for enough time to put different songs on.

i agree with gustov.. any cheap mp3 will work and if u want to change the music just format and re-sync.. the samsung YP-T7J is my choice of mp3..
