"Phish lyricist Tom Marshall, Trey Anastasio’s longtime friend and writing partner, said in an exclusive interview Tuesday that “Trey wants Phish to come back.”

Marshall announced that he has been writing and recording with Anastasio at the Phish frontman’s personal Rubber Jungle studios in Saratoga Springs, New York “for the past four months.”

When pressed about where these new songs will end up, Marshall said they “could take a left turn into the Trey Anastasio Band or a straight turn to Phish.”

“Reforming something like (Phish) has so many pieces, it’s a very complex, three-dimensional, four-dimensional, jigsaw puzzle,” said Marshall, adding “No one wants Phish back more than Trey.”

i'm seeing trey next weekend up in michigan. i've got my fingers crossed that the rest of the phish crew will make a surprise appearance yeah right.

see, this isn't just another jamband. it's 4 guys that have been playing music together & on their own for 20+ years. aside from them each being very good musicians, they play really well together. and they pull off what many "jambands" try to pull off but can't...they jam. so look past the dirty kids on drugs & listen past the lyrics and you'll hear what i'm talking about & gain, if nothing else, a little respect & appreciation for their talent & skill.

according to the article i posted fishman's supposed to be there too...

"Anastasio is slated to perform his first major public concert since his 2006 arrest on July 4th weekend at the inaugural Rothbury festival in Rothbury, Mich. Two other Phish members, drummer Jon Fishman and bassist Mike Gordon are also set to make appearances, albeit with separate acts."


so you might get a little late night jam from the 3 of them and some of the other musicians.

wish i was going to rothbury. that festival's gonna be jumpin'!

ah nice, i didn't know their drummer's name. i'm hoping rothbury is gonna be a blast, i went to bonnaroo last year and the lineup and location for rothbury looks way better than that was bonnaroo is gettin way too mainstream for me.
