Default Music that gets me in the zone

most of it is heavy metal:

3 inches of blood - pretty much any of their stuff
in flames - fav album colony
children of bodom - are you dead yet? (sick album)
rage against the machine - gotta get my dose of rage
iron maiden - anything!
judas priest - fav album painkiller
spreadeagle - an up and coming local band that i think everyone should check out
and oh so many more that i can't think of right now

For me it`s a mood thing. I tend to be into music that is fast and has good rythem. Due to my age, I tend to be into a lot of the 80`s rock and alternative genres. Todays metal just does`nt work for me; to me it sounds too angry and it puts my mood in a bad place. I imagine this is simply a generational thing. My younger friends refer to my music tastes as "geezer rock"....

geezer rock haha! well although metal may sound angry to some, it quite often isn't just gotta listen to the lyrics, metal makes me wanna rip down the mountain so hard! haha. however to each their own i guess. even tho the lyrics may be a bit harsh at points the main reason i listen to metal is the sheer awesomeness of the musicians talent and the amazing riffs they put out.

depends on my mood, one run I may have some hardcore/street punk goin (cheap sex, career soldiers, etc.) and on the next get some hip-hop bumpin. Like I said, depends on my mood and the run I'm doin.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Rise Against. In making a boarding vid, I don't know of any songs they play that wouldn't work. After that, Disturbed, Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, SOAD, Spineshank.

me and my room mate used to listen to the first rage CD every time we drove up to the mountain.

but yeah anymore it does really depend on my mood i guess.

I'm pretty much the same way, depends on what mood I'm in. Most of the time if I'm riding park I'm listening to some Hip Hop w/ good beats and flow like some Dilated Peoples, Jedi Mind Tricks, or J5. For just cruzing the mountain its more mellow music like The Sounds or Shiny Toy Guns. But for bombing the hill most definetly some metal fit the bill fast and intense. But there are time I find myself just wanting to listen to other stuf thats why there are 5600 songs on my zune. But I really need an upgrade to one with more space becasue I keep having to take other music off to put on new stuff.
