So I reckon the Evo is more like the Gnu Street Series, but with the RC instead of BTX.
I am definitely looking to get a deck that has more pop (the BTX kind of took that away from me), but not as stiff as the C2 BTX.
I am looking forward to trying the RC from Never Summer.

Vman forgot to ask...I wear a 10 Nike Kaiju, i'm thinking i should go to the 155CTX, the 154 may have a little too much overhang?

Ahhh.... The Nike Kaiju. I tried that boot on and wow! The fit around my whole foot was so tight but comfy. I love their lacing system and felt right away this is a boot I could ride in. Maybe it's time to try something different than my trusty TM2. With a size 10 on a low volume boot like the Kaiju I would go with the 154. It will be much quicker edge to edge.

Proto looks like a winner! Nice review. Not feeling the graphics though. Does NS ever release different graphics on boards like a DH2, 2.4 2.5 etc, or is this the only graphics we will see on the 2012 proto?

I haven't seen NS ever do that. I've seen them have multiple bases though. Just wait until you get a look at this board up close. It's a great looking board in real life. The pictures don't do it justice. Very hard to pick up on the true beauty of the Carbonium topsheet.

Also, put some vinyls on it and you're good. Takes time and patience because it's kind of tough to get a vinyl on the Carbonium.

Seriously, this board could have a donkey's ass with a steamer coming out of it as a graphic and I'd still ride it.

Haha yes, now that is some RAD graphics!

Really like the 2012 Rice graphics to.

Wish NS would get a little crazy in the graphics, maybe even just on some limited edition evo, protos's, etc.

But really when it comes down to it, like Leo said who cares what is on it.

I know this is a little off topic, but Leo... that new avatar pic you've got going on is pretty darn cool! I like it alot! What board were you riding at the time??

Back on topic, I already have my name on a 2012 Proto CT 160, black base for next season. Got hooked up by a friend of a friend through his shop. Can't wait till it comes in the mail in October!

Hi guys,

Thank you all for contributing so much to reviewing this board, making my decision to buy it that much easier.

I'm an intermediate rider, but when it comes to equipment and all that new technology stuff, i'm pretty clueless.

I'm 5'10, 180lbs, size 9.5; ride about 50% groomers, 35% terrain park, and 15% half pipe. I focus more on jumps than rails in the terrain.

Can someone recommend me a board size for this board? I'm torn between the Proto CT 155 or 157. I heard this board rides longer than normal, so i'm not really sure.

Secondly, can someone recommend a good pair of bindings to go with this board. For boots, I have the 2011 32 lashed at the moment, and am loving it.
