gezsweet yea, you're right. I initially understood the film to be based on Bouts activities but that clearly isn't so.

gezsweet I second Lord of War. fucking eye-opening how some governments deviously conduct business through the arms traders while giving the appearance they are maintaining international laws. I believe the film was based on a Russian arms dealer who was caught in Thailand a while back and currently fighting extradition to the U.S.

HaHaHa

Or squabbling with the t.v. over the validity of events, and googling the shit out of it so as to have a basis for argument

Charlie Wilson's War (2007)

Just wanted to make sure you saw the right movie.

Thanks for correcting me.

You know, Hart's War, Charlie Wilson's War....same difference.

Sorry Snowolf...

Edit: I wanted to add, Charlie Wilson's War is an outstanding movie that I think anybody interested in politics and/or government spending will find very interesting and at the same time eerily scary.

no, it was more just a passing reference to all of these titles being 'somebody's war'

Perpetual3am I remember liking Murphy's War, but for the life of me I can't really remember it in any detail. I'll have to download it and see it again.

Did I understand that correctly in that you've only seen one war movie? Guessing movies in general or that particular genre isn't your thing?

the one war i have seen, was at a very young age and it made a lasting impression upon me.

i have tried to find a DVD version if it, but cannae find one with the swearing left intact *for chrissakes!*

i suspect it has done more than even i might appreciate, to tailor my attitude toward international conflict;
