This. eBay fucking sucks for sellers. Fine for buyers, but sellers get raked over the coals because there really is no good alternative.

Bertieman Ebay charged me $80 for selling stuff last month. I called them saying I'm no longer using ebay due to that high fee rate, and they magically said they will not charge me for that month lol. ...They make so much money...

Yeah I've got a few things on pinkbike right now. I've been double posting on PB and Ebay and Ebay def gets more hits...but it is a tough time of year do sell bike bits. I'm done with ebay at this point. I'll just post up on PB from now on and skip the hassle of fees and bullshit.

sclogger Ebay needs a competitor badly. Then they might actually work towards improving both their buying and selling experiences.

ridinbend I have found that there are better means than eBay to sell these days. For bike parts try:
Pinkbike
Mtbr
Geartrade

I hated paying eBay and then paypal and then having to ship. Best of luck.

sclogger I do a ton of online selling every year and use USPS for almost everything when possible. Cheaper and faster. Love those flat rate boxes, have a whole room full of USPS boxes.

readimag If you get a certified scale that hooks up to your computer this helps. I have never had a problem with USPS or UPS. I don’t use FEDEX as I don’t have a drop store that near my house.

Extremo Just got off the phone with customer service. Turns out that when I printed the Fed Ex labels (through Ebay), the costs that they gave me (even though the actual packages I sent were smaller, and lighter than what I entered) were only 'estimated' costs, so Fed Ex took it upon themselves to decide after the fact that I didn't pay what I should have for shipping and is now charging me the difference through Ebay. Ebay rep said they have no control over it. I told them maybe next time their estimates should be a little closer to actual costs. Especially considering I always enter an inch larger than the actual demensions of the package and add a few ounces in weight.

So watch out for the ebay/fed ex scam they're running.
