Bindings to big for Board ???

Hey I just bought my first setup ready for a Canadian snowboarding trip, hopefully a lot more this year too, i've done a bit of snowboarding but usually hire a board or use a mates as i live in Perth, Western Australia and we have zero snow haha anyway....

I picked up a Rome Postermania 153 with Union Force L/XL bindings the problem i have is the bindings stick out slightly from the edge of the board, wish i had settled on the 156 now haha, I'm just not sure if this is gonna cause any major problems guess I'm hoping for someone with more experience to ease my mind so i can look forward to riding in canada.

Here are some pics to help!!
