Sooner or later some 250 lb skier will sit down on one end of the chair before everyone else. If you're beside that dude he will tilt the lift down and crush your highback. Always fold.

bseracka Problem solved don't fall when getting off the lift, but no it shouldn't break if you do. When hbs break it's due to the chair crushing them, or over flexing them laterally because they were left up. A small fall off the chair won't flex them beyond what they are designed for.

Snowster I understand that I need to fold it down. I was asking if when it is folded down if I fall and the top of the highback goes into the ground (because it sticks out farther than the board and baseplate) will it break or fold back up?

Deacon Fold it down. You're way more likely to break your highback (read: almost guaranteed) leaving it up.

prevent broken High-back

So I recently bought a pair of nice burton co2s from 2010. Anyway I go to fold down the highback and it comes out past the toe ramp base part. Anyway my question is if I fall off the chairlift coming off with the highback folded down, will it break?
