I board for fun.
I eat what I like, and drink whenever it doesnt interfere with either work, life, family or other preferrable forms of fun (such as waking up early because it's a pow day...). Beer is fun.
I don't do drugs because sometimes we have drug screens for work with little notice (depends on the client and which controls they have for accessing their site); so work > drugs. I also wouldnt do any highly illegal drugs because... no high is worth going to jail for, and i'm not responsible for establishing what's legal or not...
Basically... my goal in life is: maximize fun, minimize problems.

Thanks for all of the comments guys. I appreciate it.
My problem was...I treated snowboarding like it was WORK/JOB. Because I wanted to be SO GOOD at it. I treated my snowboarding regiment/session like an addiction/OCD. And because it was an addiction...I put a lot of work ethic/moral value into it and therefore was pushing myself to the limit for a couple years. I ultimately got BURNED OUT. Thats why I stopped snowboarding for 2 seasons/years and now MISS IT again.
Its just recently this year that I finally told myself...I need to approach my snowboarding differently. Instead of treating it like its a job...maybe treat it more like a hobby.
So who knows...maybe I should enjoy a cheeseburger and a bowl next time I go to the hill

My guilty pleasure is beer. I cut out my daily 3-4 craft beers and lost 4 pounds last week... Now I'm thinking a few on weekend days is fine, max one each night but better to have a few nights off.
As for food, cutting out the crap is important not just for snowboarding but life in general.
I don't know very many people that JUST snowboard. We hike in the summer, rock climb, swim, etc. etc. and it all leads to a better life. Better sleep, more balanced emotions.

Its about quality of life. Only you get to determine what that is. Never and too much is just enough really doesn't work for most folks...and if it is working, then ur fucked. At my geezerly age...yes...try to eat right, drink right and smoke right...meaning quality over quantity. As for performance enhancement...hell yes...but my performance expectations/goals are...am I having fun without too much damage. Thus, only micro local brews or a straight up single malt, mostly local organic food and a 1-2 times per year a great cigar.
However, it more about what you do, with what you do.

|16gkid||I work out 3-4 days a week and eat moderatly healthy, but since i dont get paid to snowboard i treat it like a fun hobby, nothing more fun than getting blazed and having a couple of beers throughout the day on the lift with your friends. Besides lifes too short not to partake in these things, if you enjoy it|
