If you stick with the sintered or sinthruded bases, you shouldn't ever have a problem with it being slow. They require a lot of wax the first few times you ride em, but after 4 or 5 waxing jobs, they hold wax pretty well.
If you thought the Goliath was stiff (don't know how you could think that though), get the Airobic. How long did you ride the Goliath? My Riot broke in and became quite a bit softer after 4 or 5 days riding.

thinking of adding one to next season's quiver. i previously owned a goliath 157 from 2 or 3 season's ago (the black one with the green staircase on the front- season before the clockwork orange edition). loved the TBT. 2 complaints i had were that it felt very stiff and the base seemed super slow/dry.
looking at 09 kink 153 or airobic 155.
are these much softer (i know the chart says they are- looking for first hand knowledge) and has the quality of the base material improved???
any preferences between the wider twin TBT and the narrower FS TBT???
