DrnknZag Bummed I couldn't make it out while you were here (again). Glad you had a great time in my hood up until the accident. Vibes to Steve for a quick recovery!

killclimbz Thanks guys! It was a pretty amazing time tempered by the accident. A good reminder quite frankly that we can always do things just a little better.

Hung out today with Steve on a Denver brewery and distillery tour. It was a lot of fun. His leg is much better. Probably going to need some surgery, but maybe the 3-6 month recovery time versus a year before you're fully back. Might even be quicker than that. Fingers crossed.

Silky (the rooster) is a fucker. I think his days are numbered, but he was a good alarm clock while I was there. Early in the morning, but that is when I needed to wake up. Something actually kind of comforting about a rooster in the morning.

EatRideSleep Don't know how I missed this one...

Looks amazing!! Loved the POV, killz. One of the best yet. And a wrath cameo?! Excellent!

Hope your friend, Steve, is okay and healing well.

Roosters are no joke. They are the one animal that gives me pause. Yep, roosters.

neni Wow... glad you all made it out in one piece!

Besides that... WOW! Awsome pics! *writingSteven'sPassonbucketlist*

Haha, Wrath, I bet you had a pinned smile (and sore body) for a week

irrballsac Damn man. Regards to your friend. I'm looking forward to going out that way in two weeks. I hope the best for your bud.

hardasacatshead That looks sensational. Shame about your bud's knee but as you say, at least it was a reminder with a reasonably low consequence.

Steven's Pass has been on my list for some time, I will get there one day.

Thanks!

Glad you are all are still on the planet and made it home. It must have been a MOFO getting yourselves out of there…shit I had a hard time with two good legs and gear intact.

THANKS!!! To this crew for popping my BC cherry…they did me nicely (actually thought was getting raped…WTF did I get myself into…lol). My little hikes of 30-60 minutes out the blueberry gate to Artist Point at Baker were mere 1st base foreplay. It was a great first time out with a great crew….highly recommend it if you get a chance…got my ass kicked and handed to me. Learned a ton of stuff, stoked to go out and get my skin on. Killz, Ale, Steve and Ronin…MUCH Thanks for letting me tag along…sucking ass the entire time. One of the hardest days on a board…but the best day evar.

killclimbz Getting pitted was a fairly common occurrence on this trip.

Wrath playing around.

Last set of photos was from the slide day. A few runs before it happened.

Shortly after that last shot is when it happened. My buddy Steve (skier) kicked off a small slide and didn't see it fracture as he had skied ahead of it. It caught up and swept him off of his skis and swept him two or three hundred feet. I heard his airbag go off and knew we had a problem. I proceeded down the slide path and found him fairly quickly. Probably not enough debris to bury. It didn't even occur to me to turn my beacon on due to the lack of debris. The sparse trees were more of a worry as getting wrapped around one of those would be bad. Luckily he had missed the ones he was carried by and stopped just before a stand of trees. Not so lucky was the knee. Ale and myself had to boot pack down the remaining 1,800 vertical or so to the forest service road below the highway. Steve was able to slide down our trench. Once down, we were able to get Steve on Ale's split skis and he could skin out on the fairly flat road. It is a 2+ mile skin and Ale had to boot out while I broke trail. In all a very tiring experience and a few lessons learned. Really can't wait to go out next year.

killclimbz Wrath joined us for a tour.

Rowan was a charger for sure.

More Ale.

Ale goofing off at a ridge top.

His pooch Cololo was not to be out done.

And there was plenty of powder to be found.

^^^Wrath is in there somewhere...

Stevens Pass 2014

It was a bittersweet trip of sorts. Great snow for sure. Unfortunately on the Thursday outing last week, my buddy got caught in a small slide. He deployed his airbag, but as a result of the ride he tore his ACL and maybe more. He was on top of the snow and otherwise okay. Made for a mini epic that day as it happened just after four near the top of Skyline Ridge. We didn't get back to the car until almost 10pm. Up until that incident we were having a blast. The bummer is that a little more discussion with a different choice of line and this could have been easily avoided. Sometimes mother nature needs to kick you in the ass to remind you who is boss. Glad it was just a slap.

Some choice photos for you to enjoy too.
