Zerv Awesome. Thanks UI. That's exactly the kind of information I was looking for. You make a great case for the Unions, and with respect. I appreciate that.

Can't wait to get this first board together and get back out there. Have a good one!

I have some additional questions:

How does the Union Contact compare to the Force?

The Contact base is quite a bit more flexible. It's also a bit lighter. The highback on the Contact is more "flat" on the inside, which also contributes to it's "loose skate truck" feel. Straps on both are great, but the Force has a bit more padding, and a more durable material. The Contact is $20 USD less expensive than the Force. Both are great value at their respective prices.

Also, how does the Union Contact compare to The Burton Cartel? Not necessarily asking which one is better, but more along the lines of comparing how they feel, flex factor, support, any brand specific features I should consider, etc.

It would probably compare similar to the Contact / Force comparison. More flexy, and lighter. The Cartel is $50 USD more than the Contact, so we're not really comparing apples to apples here.

I doubt I'd ever get the chance to actually try them out so the more information I can get before my purchase, the better. I figure most everyone on here has experience with all of these bindings (or knows someone that has) and inform this poor noob. Thanks again!
At the end of the day, you are looking at quality product here. Of course, I'd like to tell you to buy Union, but the Cartel is a damn fine binding as well.

24WERD go grab some union contact for around 110 you need size m/l.

burton for the price is too expensive.

flux has too much dead spot .

Bindings for first board

Sup All!

First post. Needed some advice on bindings for my first board. Here's the relevant info:

Gnu Carbon Credit 2014
145 lbs, size 8-9 boot
beginner rider
mostly on groomed, hopefully hit up the park some day if I can

Looking for bindings I can progress into and not replace so soon. Burton Cartels were my first thought but didn't know if that was too much for me at this time or what.

Any thoughts? And if not those bindings, any suggestions from Burton, Flux or Union? Those are the brands that's available to me (long story).

Thanks!
