I see a few places that will rent powder boards on their own, but none near the mountain. I will check what is available near there on the day, otherwise i will just set back the bindings on the parkstar.
I am still wondering whether the snow will be deep enough to warrant such a balls out powder board. What do they ride like in normal snow?

|ryannorthcott||For sure it would. It is a rockered board so it won't be THAT bad... Obviously the length is not ideal but yea set your rear binding back as far as it'll go and then line up your stance from there. You'll still have fun|

I could possibly rent. But here in Japan it is very hard to find rentals that are from the current century... Seriously 95% of rentals here are early to mid nineties boards with bindings that *look* painful.
I have done powder days on this board before, not ideal, but when rear leg burn set in, a few minutes riding switch had me ready to go again. I just wanted to know if setting back the bindings would be much help here

Heli boarding with my K2 Parkstar
Yeah, i know, it's less than ideal.
Got the opportunity to do some heli skiing this weekend; from one of the resorts up near Niigata. Its not full on Jeremy Jones back country; in fact its really just to get to another peak next to the main resort mountain (about 2000m/6500ft at the top). Got some warm weather lined up this week so i am guessing it wont be powder by any means, but at least it will be deepish/soft and should have nice views
Problem i have is that my main board (2012 K2 Parkstar) is not really the most ideal board for this adventure. Its shortish (152cm, i am 155lb), true twin, flat rocker, currently set up with a centred, duck stance.
Is it worth shifting the stance back as far as it can go, and switching to forward facing angles on the bindings for the trip back? Would that make a difference on an obviously park oriented board?
