He is not allowed to "compete" until he is 12 in Norway, however, of all the things he can do, he is leaning towards it yes, and with the Norwegian 2 best male and the best female all coming from the same club, he is in a good position to get some seriously good help.
We have an SBX course, to European standards at our slope, so good practice, the biggest concern at the moment is his size, he is so small for his age, and doesn't carry speed well as a result, but we are working on his jumps etc by using a different slope and there very well maintained blue park, so he is getting lots of practice right now, and very good conditions with it being soft...
We will see what he chooses though, it is a long way off right now, and he will learn it all through the club anyway. Never thought we would have fun on rails at the start of this season, but he is enjoying them now, and has started his frontside and backslide board slides, and now doing pipes as well, rails are something he still hasn't tried, but everything else is moving along nicely...
